The S7000 utilizes Fujifilm's new 4th Generation Super CCD HR with 6.3 million effective pixels and 12.3 million recorded pixels (4048x3040). The FinePix S7000 has a bright F2.8 Super EBC (Electron Beam Coating) Fujinon 6X (35-210mm) optical zoom with a 13-step aperture and high speed focusing. Up to 800 ISO at 1, 2, or 3 MegaPixels is possible with minimal electronic noise, and digital movies with sound at full VGA resolution (30 fps) is also possible. A new 235,000 pixel electronic viewfinder greatly improves viewfinder performance over previous models.

Pros: 6 megapixels, great for action photography, 6X zoom, dual card slots
Cons: Lots more noise than average, very restrictive ISO mode, no ISO 50/100 setting
The Bottom Line: The S7000 had the potential to be a top tier prosumer digicam, but in the final analysis the newest Finepix doesn?t quite make the grade.

The Good, The Bad, and the Fantasy Claims of the Fuji S7000...

Pros: Handles well. Powerful & adjustable flash. Good zoom. Memory card storage options.
Cons: Lack of quality (compression) choices and interpolated 12MP image size make for some soso images.
The Bottom Line: If you can find it at or below $500, and can use Photoshop (or similar) to bring out the best in the images, fine. Recommended with reservations.

My experience with the Fuji Finepix s7000 digital camera

Pros: 6x optical zoom, EXCELLENT macro capability, easy to learn, takes great pictures!
Cons: odd body style, some quirks that are workable but annoying
The Bottom Line: I recommend you buy the S7000 if you want a versatile and easy-to-use camera with lots of options without a huge price tag. Have fun with it!
