Product Description

 
This computer-animated feature, directed by David Bowers and Sam Fell, explores a whole new world under London. A pet mouse named Roddy St. James (voiced by Hugh Jackman) is pretty much spoiled rotten. His owners live in a chic Kensington apartment, and Roddy has everything he could possibly want--except friends and a family. Everything changes for Roddy when his owners go away for a few days and their flat is invaded by a common rat, Sid (Shane Richie). Determined to reclaim his apartment and boot out the intruder, Roddy tries to talk Sid into enjoying the apartment "Jacuzzi," which is actually the toilet. But Sid is smarter than he looks, and soon Roddy is traveling down the pipes out of his sheltered life into a world that he never knew existed.

Emerged in Ratropolis and completely out of his element, Roddy is immediately caught up in an adventure. He meets Rita (Kate Winslet), a street-smart scavenger who travels the sewers by boat looking for riches that will help her care for her paren...

Not Too Draining...Go Ahead And Take The Plunge!

The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this movie for a sleepover party involving a group of eight-year-olds.

Flushed Away Movie: A Movie That Needs 2000 Flushes!

The Bottom Line: Flushed Away needs to be sent down to the movie sewer hall of fame. It is not funny and has too many adult topics embedded within the film.

Set on and beneath the streets of London, Flushed Away is the story of Roddy (Hugh Jackman), an upper-crust society mouse, who is rather rudely evicted from his Kensington flat when he is flushed down into Ratropolis, the bustling sewer world found under London s streets. There, he meets Rita (Kate Winslet), an enterprising scavenger who works the sewers in her faithful boat, the Jammy Dodger. Together they must navigate their way through a busy city filled with dangers for any mouse, including terrifying rapids, treacherous whirlpools and, most of all, the villainous Toad (Ian McKellen) and his hench-rats Spike (Andy Serkis) and Whitey (Bill Nighy). Beneath the streets of London, Roddy St. James is a pampered pet mouse who thinks he's got it made. But when a sewer rat named Sid - the definition of "low life" - comes spewing out of the sink and decides it's his turn to enjoy the lap of luxury, Roddy schemes to rid himself of the pest by luring him into the loo for a dip in the "whirlpool." Roddy's plan backfires when he inadvertently winds up being the one flushed away into the bustling world down below. Underground, Roddy discovers a vast metropolis, where he meets Rita, a street-wise rat who is on a mission of her own. If Roddy is going to get home, he and Rita will need to escape the clutches of the villainous Toad, who royally despises all rodents and has dispatched two hapless henchrats, Spike and Whitey, as well as his cousin - that dreaded mercenary, Le Frog - to see that Roddy and Rita are iced, literally.
