Product Description

Evanescence: Amy Lee (vocals); Ben Moody (guitar, percussion, programming). Additional personnel: Paul McCoy (vocals); David Hodges (piano, keyboards, programming); Francesco DiCosmo (bass); Josh Freese, Rocky Gray (drums); Zac Baird, Chris Johnson (programming). Evanescence won the 2004 Grammy Award for Best New Artist. FALLEN was nominated for Album Of The Year and for Best Rock Album. "Bring Me To Life" won for Best Hard Rock Performance. The song was also nominated for Best Rock Song. Picture Tori Amos fronting Nickelback and you'll get an idea of the sound behind Evanescence, an Arkansas quartet whose introduction to the world came via the DAREDEVIL soundtrack. With its debut FALLEN, Evanescence further pushes the envelope on the aforementioned description, with frontwoman Amy Lee pouring her light-yet-strong vocals into the aggro-rock workout "Bring Me to Life" and industrial trip-hop of "My Last Breath." Although guitarists Ben Moody and John LeCompt leave no riff unplayed on hard-hitting cuts lik...

Evanescence, Their Epic, Dramatic, and Dark Music Has Fallen Into Me

Date of Review:  Mar 2, 2003
The Bottom Line: The Best Album of the Year - HANDS DOWN. I'm In Love With Amy Lee.
Review: evanescence (ev-e-nes'ens) - a dissipation or disappearance like vapor.

Things have been very difficult for me over the past month and usually when that occurs, I can turn to music for some relief. For two entire weeks, I couldn't listen...

Evanescence - Fallen (2003)

Date of Review:  Mar 12, 2003
The Bottom Line: Evanescence rocks. So does everybody.
Review: So I was browsing through Amazon.com a little while ago, and I came across the new Evanescence CD, Fallen. I looked on in interest as there were 110 "consumer reviews" over there, but what was even more interesting was this. 99 of them gave Fallen...

My Evanescence, My Tourniquet Brings Me To Life

Date of Review:  Apr 3, 2003
The Bottom Line: If you like music, you'll love Evanescence's album Fallen. Ah heck, even if you don't like music you'll love this.
Review: Once in a great while I hear music which moves me in such a way that stirs up emotions in me that I didn t even knew I could feel. When I saw the movie Daredevil I was bored out of my mind, but there were two songs included in the movie that sort of...

Fallen
Although the band s name may suggest a sudden vanishing, the music of Evanescence is poised for longevity. Fallen, the Wind-up Records debut of this talented quartet from Little Rock, Arkansas, is an emotional, ethereal work of undeniable potency guided by the heavenly vocals of Amy Lee. We re definitely a rock band, says the 20-year-old Lee. But the twist is that the band s music is epic, dramatic, dark rock. Fallen was tracked in Los Angeles with producer Dave Fortman (Boysetsfire, Superjoint Ritual). The album successfully finds that intangible balance between lush beauty and primal heaviness. Typical of the record is the first single, Bring Me To Life, a piano ballad-turned-riff -driven barnburner. Highlighted by a guest vocal from Paul McCoy of 12 Stones, the song is featured prominently in the Daredevil film and soundtrack.
