Safety 1st Perfect Fit Gate.

The Bottom Line: All in all i like the Safety first gate. It doesn't invite climbing, is easier to use than most and holds well.
Review: Our home now has four gates. We have two of these, the Safety First Perfect Fit Gate.

Though this gate does come with optional hinges it seems to me, from observing other households, that most people do not use them...
