The Latitude C640--a refresh of another Dell business-focused laptop, the Latitude C610--has a modular bay located conveniently on the front that can hold an optical drive (in this instance, a DVD-ROM/CD-RW combination drive) or the included floppy drive. Optionally, it can hold an extra-cost secondary power pack for stretching the already-good 3-hour battery life. With the optical drive inserted into the bay (and not including the power adapter or the external floppy drive), the Latitude C640 weighs just 6.1 pounds.

Dell Latitude C640 PC Notebook, Perfect For On the Road Epinions Reviews

The Bottom Line: This seems to be a good choice for me as i looked for an inexpensive used laptop.. It's working well and I am Very Happy with it.

The Bottom Line: A basic business-oriented laptop with some really nice features. The performance drops dramatically in 2 years, so this is not a good long-term personal investment.

Dell C640 C series getting worse as time goes on. HORRIBLE!

The Bottom Line: This is supposed to be high end business equipment. I expect my money to buy me MORE productivy and ease not less. I would not recommend this product.
Review: I have owned no fewer than 50 Dell C series laptops. Starting with the C600, then C610 and finally the C640. They have all gotten worse in performance as I have upgraded. My C640 "powerhorse" is a pathetically slow DOG! The only thing my C's have...
