Samsung adds to its best-in-class Combo line with the value-driven DVD-V8500 player. Besides offering superior 480P DVD playback the player integrates a four -head hi-fi VCR into the same player, ensuring uncomplicated hook-up and easy playback no matter the media type (except VCD). The player has a sport sleek designs with front A/V input jacks. The DVD-V8500 supports a 10-in-2 multi-card reader for digital photo viewing that accepts virtually every popular format of memory card, including SD, Compact Flash, Mini SD, XD, MMC, Smart Media, Memory Stick and Memory Stick Pro.

The Bottom Line: Buy Samsung, especially if on sale. High quality performance. Definitely much better than the no-name "off" brands.
Review: Just purchased this SAMSUNG V8500 the other day. My cheapy DVD player died on me. Do NOT believe those negative reviews. Please read on before deciding.

Same exact problem with the DVD not playing, so for the person who wrote "don't believe.." I'll gladly trade mine with yours...hey, they're both the same model! Then again probably...

Review: I have had better experiences with electronics. This DVD/VCR combo is a better VCR player than a DVD player. With DVD's. it has a tendency to be very jerky and inconsistent. It pauses by itself for no apparent reason.
