Cruis'n Exotica for Nintendo 64

Consumer Rating: Cruis'n Exotica for Nintendo 64 Reviews and Ratings - Rating 4/5   See 4 reviews  | Write a review
Information: Product details
Price Range: $20.00 - $58.00 at 3 stores
Manufacturer: Midway Home Entertainment
While there are many different types of racing games, one might say generally that the genre splits into two categories: one for people who know the difference between a rocker arm assembly and a cam follower chamber, and one for people who just like to burn rubber and jump things. Cruis'n Exotica falls decidedly in the latter category. You don't have to put your car together before you drive it, and you certainly aren't restricted to an oval track--or even the road, for that matter. You'll race through prehistoric jungles, the ocean floor, and even a Martian city (imagine your competition, choking on your red dust), as you perform midair stunts along the way. There are loads of exotic vehicles just waiting for a nice lead foot, as well as shortcuts, nitro boosts, and 60 tracks in all. Your friends can join in, too, thanks to the four-player, simultaneous split-screen mode.

This sequel proves the series is still the same, good or bad

by  NMD85 ,  Oct 28, 2000

Pros: Fast-paced arcade racing action, and fans will buy that!
Cons: Too many shortcomings of the arcade version, too many missing cars, and landscapes
The Bottom Line: Exotica manages to success as being a fun ride, but the cookie-cutter gameplay manages to fizzle the fun out of it quickly.

Review: Cruis'n Exotica is finally here, Midway's third coming "mindless racer" from the arcades. Midway and Gratuitous Games bring on the last Nintendo 64 "Cruis'n" game on the system that started it all. The third coming Cruis'n Exotica is by no means a...

Cruis'n Exotica: Is it a Lexus... or a lemon?

by  offspringer ,  Mar 13, 2001
9 out of 9 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Nice sense of speed; diverse racing environments; arcade controls; added game modes
Cons: Choppy frame rate; a little too easy; bland cars; some crashes impossible to avoid
The Bottom Line: While not a bad arcade conversion, Cruis'n Exotica can't shake the "just another Cruis'n game" label and will only appeal to fans of the series. Rent this one first.

Review: Midway is well-known for trying to inject life into once-great franchises like NBA Jam, NFL Blitz, Mortal Kombat, and others. The Cruis'n series actually began as a joint effort between Williams (whom Midway bought out) and Nintendo (to showcase...

Review: Ok here's the deal recently me and my cousin took this little racer out
for a test drive. I played the original Crusin game, and this one is quite an improvement, but is it good? Let's take a look.
