Product Description

 
The 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt is a 2- or 4-door, 5-passenger family coupe, sports coupe, or family sedan, available in 6 trims, ranging from the Coupe to the SS Supercharged Coupe. Upon introduction, the Coupe is equipped with a standard 2.2-liter, I4, 145-horsepower engine that achieves 25-mpg in the city and 34-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The SS Supercharged Coupe is equipped with a standard 2.0-liter, I4, 205-horsepower, supercharged engine that achieves 23-mpg in the city and 29-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard. The 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt is all-new for 2005.

Review: Let's face it : the Cavalier was definitely due for a remake. Although there was nothing wrong with the engine, the interior was dull and of poor quality, the seats were ugly and uncomfortable and, from the outside, the car really did not stand out...

Chevy Adjusts Its Cavalier Attitude Toward Compacts

The Bottom Line: Chevy has achieved parity with the current Civic and Corolla. But since those benchmarks are nearing the end of their production cycles, the Cobalt may not shine for long.
