Product Description

 
Astro and its GMC Safari twin are Americas only truck-based minivans, with a basic design that dates from the late 1980s. Astro comes in a single body length with one side sliding door. It uses a 4.3-liter V6 and automatic transmission, and is available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Seating for up to eight is available. Astro comes with full-height rear cargo doors or extra-cost Dutch doors with separate-opening upper glass. It is also available as a 2-seat Cargo Van. Antilock 4-wheel disc brakes are standard. Traction control and side airbags are unavailable.

The Bottom Line: If its features meet your needs, go for it. You'll become a loyal owner, too.
Review: This is the only minivan that I know of that can tow almost 5000 pounds, have the clearance of a truck, and therefore be a good vehicle both around town and when camping in the National Forests of Arizona.

Around town it gets 15-16 mpg,...
