Review: And the dog's name was Winn-Dixie. Kate DiCamillo's wonderful, funny and touching Because of Winn-Dixie is one of my all-time favorite books and one that I wholeheartedly recommend for parents and kids to enjoy together. The book won a Newbery Honor...

The Bottom Line: This is a case where a charming cover doesn't equate to an equally charming story. Read it before deciding if you will hand it to anyone else.
Review: The Tale of Despereaux has a charming cover and an equally charming blurb. There's a picture of a little mouse carrying a needle in front on my copy, and the legend "..the story of a mouse, a princess, some soup, and a spool of thread" on the spine...
