The Joker has always been a loose canon, but he is at his most psychologically vicious and senselessly violent in THE KILLING JOKE. Throughout the story flashbacks gradually reveal bits of his back story. Bolland offers rich, new coloring to the often trippy scenarios in this 20th-anniversary hardback re-release of this classic Batman originally published in 1988. The volume also includes Bolland?s story "An Innocent Guy" as an afterward.

The Bottom Line: The Joker transcends insanity and Moore transforms the Clown Prince of Crime into a three-dimensional irredeemable human being. He's just frightening no matter what he does.
