In the 1930s, a barman from the famous Club Twenty One in New York dreamt up a blend of Benedictine and Brandy. This new drink was instantly successful, and was called B&B. Drier than Benedictine, B&B, which is very popular with the Americans, is the result of the careful blend between the strength of an old cognac and the 27 plants and spices which go up to make Benedictine liqueur. The Bottom Line: B & B, a bottled mix of Bénédictine and cognac, isn't bad, but I can't picture ever prefering it over another option on a menu or at a bar.
Review: The makers of Bénédictine claim that it is made from twenty-seven herbs and spices; one plausible recipe includes myrrh, galangal, cascarilla, licorice, millefoil, and hops.  But when tasting either Bénédictine or B & B--a drier mix of Bénédictine...
