With Dual G5 processors, the Power Mac G5 is the ultimate tool for creative professionals. The PowerPC architecture was designed from the beginning to run both 32-bit and 64-bit application code, so the next generation of software is already compatible. From video editing to number crunching, the G5 has it all over the competition. This model is configured with dual 2.0GHz G5 processors, 512KB on-die cache per processor, a 160GB Serial ATA hard drive and 512MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (expandable to 8GB). In addition to the 1GHz frontside bus per processor, it features three open full length PCI-X slots, an 8X (max. speed) SuperDrive, FireWire 800 and USB 2.0. For your communications needs, use the 56K V.92 modem or 10/100/1000 Ethernet. It's also ready for you to add optional AirPort Extreme or Bluetooth components. Video is provided by nVidia GeForce FX 5200 8X AGP graphics with 64MB DDR SDRAM, supporting digital resolutions of 1920 x 1200 and analog resolutions of 1600 x 1200.

Mac PowerPC G5 2GHz: Amaaaaazing machine

The Bottom Line: This is a great machine for research or a lot of mathematical/graphical operations, it won't leave you down.

Once you go MAC, you never will go back!
