The movie was an awesome account of the true story of man's near disaster trip to the moon aboard Apollo 13, the 3rd mission to land man on the moon...staring Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton, Ed Harris, Gary Sinise, Kevin Bacon, and Kathleen Quinlan. Produced by Brian Grazer and directed by Ron Howard.The movie is based on the book Lost Moon by astronaut Jim Lovell. It is rated PG and was released through Universal Pictures in 1995. Bill Paxton portrays astronaut Fred Haise, Gary Sinise plays astronaut Ken Mattingly who is grounded from the mission because he was exposed to the measles by astronaut Charlie Duke. Ed Harris plays the Flight Director Gene Kranz., and Kevin Bacon plays astronaut Jack Swigert. Pros: Everything

An excellent historically and technically accurate drama.
5/5 stars
I thought this was a great film. There's a lot of tense dramatic moments and top notch acting. The picture quality is pretty good for HD and there's some supplemental material like a 52 minute documentary and 3 commentaries. Overall a good addition to your library.
