The GFR-700 features ADCOM S.A.F.E. Amplification stable into 4 ohms, 7.1 channel DSP processing, decodes Dolby Digital-EX, DTS-ES, Pro Logic IIx, DTS Neo:6, 7.1 Analog In/Out and video transcoding to component and a Digital AM/FM Tuner. Additional features include 6 assignable digital inputs, RS-232 Bi-Directional Com Port, discrete remote codes, programmable Main 12V trigger, Independent Room 2 12V trigger, Independent Main/Room 2 IR inputs, Variable and fixed Rooms 2 analog out, Room 2 tone control, Triple Bass Management and a Ground Lift switch. Adcom = High current for low impedance speakers == Great Sound for the money

Pros: High current to drive 4Ohms or less; excellent sound reproduction and sound stage

Cons: price

Review: Some other reviewer commented saying Denon AVR3806 did as much or better than Adcom at less than half the price. If you look at the specs of Denon, it cannot drive 4 ohms speakers for example. People who have such speakers as Magnepan, Martin Logan etc ...

Adcom 700 HD provides oomph

Pros: - power of separates - features of AV receiver - lrg transformer - upscaling

Cons: - front panel difficult to read from a distance - limited distributors - demos difficult
