Horizon powered subwoofers feature large front-firing cones and Boston's proprietary Deep Channel Design (DCD) technology. These subwoofer are ideally suited for use in a high-quality 5.1-channel home theater or stereo music system. It is capable of impressive deep bass and high output from remarkably compact enclosures. In addition, they feature BassTrac, a proprietary Boston-design circuit that tracks the input signal to the subwoofer and prevents its amplifier from being drive to audible distortion.

Great for Movies, Good with Music

The Bottom Line: I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a good midrange sub that is a reasonable compromise between Movie and Music formats
Review: Boston HPS-12HO has a 300 watt RMS class D amp that draws 600 watts maximum current. It is tested at 30,50,80hz tones for this 300 watts at 4 ohms with no more than 1 percent distortion. The peak or dynamic power is somewhere at or ABOVE 450 watts...
