This sub-module is inserted within the switch fabric of the 3Com Switch 7700 4-Slot chassis and delivers four ports of high-performance Gigabit Ethernet switching with optional Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC) ports for both fiber and copper connections. ýThis is particularly helpful when Gigabit Ethernet ports are required for an uplink when using Fast Ethernet modules in the chassis payload slots.
