Crime Drama DVD - Lets put our cards on the table: Charlie's Angels was a cop show in the same way that Baywatch was a rescue show. Yes, the Angels chased bad guys. Yes, they solved crimes. And yes, young women even looked up to the Angels as role models. But Jill (Farrah Fawcett), Kelly (Jaclyn Smith), and Sabrina (Kate Jackson) also happened to be staggeringly sexy. And, for officers of the law, they had wardrobes that were suspiciously similar to those on display at Saks. Let it not be said that the Angels failed to entertain. There was lovable, shlubby Bosley (David Boyle). There was the elusive Charlie (voiced by John Forsythe), head of Charles Townsend Investigations and the show's omnipotent, unseen Oz. And, in truth, alongside such hard-edged shows as S.W.A.T. and The Professionals, Charlie's Angels was relatively wholesome entertainment. So perhaps we've been a bit harsh.
