Sixth Avenue prospective customers should know their calls to the 6th avenue service number 973-924-8584 will go unanswered for weeks!! If 6th Avenue had any business smarts they would fire the employees that are responsible. I made numerous calls, left numerous messages, and did not receive 1 return call. Inexcusable business practices by any standard. This unresponsiveness took place from 10/20/09 to 11/10/09.

Worst experience ever! I purchased a 50" Panasonic plasma tv online. I paid $199.95 for white glove delivery service. Things were already murky with the email I had received from 6ave.com regarding delivery as they were unhelpful in advising WHO was delivering the tv and WHEN.
Fast forward to the delivery date and the 2 men show up in a small rented truck. Then they had an issue with bringing the tv up 1 flight of wide stairs into my apartment. The delivery information clearly showed I lived on the 2nd floor. Once into my apartment they unboxed the set partially and then stated they were leaving. What about the garbage I asked? You keep the box due to a 30 day return policy was the reply. Turns out this 30 day policy doesn't apply to my purchase per 6ave.com, since my new tv is 50" and their policy is to come and repair or replace the tv even without the original box! So now as a physically disabled person I have to get rid of this massive box, paid $199.95 for white glove delivery lies. I WILL NEVER SHOP 6AVE.COM! LIES, LIES, LIES! |

Great place to deal with. I ordered the ln52a750 samsung lcd t.v, which was a thousand dollars cheaper than a company thats name rhymes with Dex's, on a Friday and it was at my door on Tuesday. Friendly staff,very helpful, and no high pressure sales. Television is better than I expected, and video games on it...dont even get me started, lets just say its like your right there. I thought the screen may be to reflective being I have a pretty well lit living room, but the picture is crystal clear and haven't had any problems. I almost ordered throught another company and when they finished taking my order they slipped in that their products are refurbished. If you want an excellent deal on an item that is new and not refurbished order from 6th avenue electronics you cant beat their service or prices.

Slowest online shipping ever!
I would not reccomend them to anyone who wants what they paid for in an acceptable time period. Spent ~$2500 and it took two business weeks to receive my Pioneer 520 and one full business week to receive my Pioneer 51FD BR player..........they are only 60 miles away from me. |

These guys canceled my order after a week of waiting. I even called them the day before to make sure my order was ok. Customer service told me everthing is fine and I will get my reciever the following week. The next day I get an email saying were sorry your order is canceled. I called them and they gave me 3 different reasons why my order was canceled and offered no resolution. I can't belive they wouldn't do anything to retain my buisness. I was polite on the phone and I couldn't even get a manager to speak with me. I ended up paying 20.00 more at another retailer. I could never use them again! I just don't understand why they do buisness this way. They just don't understand how to do buisness. This company makes me want to stop making large purchases online.

My name is Jay I purchase an LCD 46 inch TV with cables, the cables were 3 times the cost that you would get them from other stores and online. They are misleading when purchasing the TV they do not provide with correct information, Called Headquarter customer service and all they have is a recording for you to leave a message. When you call the store where I purchase the TV from and request to talk to manager, customer service will have an excuse that manager is busy and will call you later, which he never does. (customer service at sprinfield store like to put you on hold for 20 minutes). They do not return anything but only give you credit for what you purxhase. I will never puchase anything from 6th ave store and will never recommend anybody to buy anythinh from the store especiall the store in Springfield, NJ.

This is my first experience with 6th Ave Electronics, but it's a good start. I ordered a 46 inch flat panel LCD TV because they had the best price I could find. The TV shipped the same day and arrived the next day. It's going to take me much longer to find time to set it up.
I will update this review if I find anything after I open the box. |

Ordered a 52 inch Samsung TV on Dec 28th. Nothing was sent nor posted on my account status until I called customer service on Jan 3. They said I was sent an email on Dec. 31st to tell me the item is out of stock for two weeks. (No email was recieved. They had my correct email address.) My sense is they just aren't quite competent as an e-retailer. I canceled my order and paid a bit more for much better service at a better reviewed website.

Awful... The service was awful, the manager lied about having the TV just so he didn't have to deal with me. They said they shipped out the TV when they did not.

Bought a 42 inch 1080p Panasonic Plasma TV on black friday from this company. It took about 8 days for it to arrive to my home in Georgia. WELL WORTH IT! Saved over $300 from the local retailers here. Free shipping on top of the savings. Arrived double boxed and Ive been loving the tv ever since. Thanks to 6ave.com for the hugh savings.

I ordered a blu ray player from 6th ave. on November 23. Store ad on web page said it was in stock and would ship in 1-3 days. The store immediately charged my credit card through paypal BEFORE EVER SHIPPING the item. Constant calls to customer service about an actual ship date. Contradictory statements from different representatives in customer services. Continual promises of shipping that kept being delayed by 6th ave. as the advertised price on the price kept declining! I got tired yesterday, and canceled my order. Bought item from Amazon instead which is always a breeze. Cheaper price too after all. Very poor service here. Be very careful: especially about the charging of your credit card prior to the item ever being shipped. That is not good. I will not return to this store again.

Very poor service from 6th Ave. At the first of '08 I ordered a receiver only to find out after a week it was on back order. It took 6th Ave. six weeks to deliver. Recently I decided to give them another chance when I needed a CD player. It was supposed to be shipped in 1-3 days. After a week I still couldn't track the shipment so I called customer service. The first time the representative couldn't find the order at first. After he found it he put me on hold for about 10 minutes while he called his warehouse. Still couldn't give me an answer and told me to call back. The next day I called customer service and was told the CD player was on back order AGAIN! I canceled the order immediately. I've ordered many item over the internet and have never experienced this kind of miserable service. My advice would be to run, not walk, away from 6thAve.

Easily the best online electronics store! I do not say this lightly. I have purchased several things over a 1,000 dollars and all transactions have been flawless. Comunication excellent. Shipping excellent. My purchases have been through Amazon.com and 6ave always has the lowest price. The final straw is the company's 30 day Price guarantee which just saved me 150$!

Placed my order for a Camera on 6/24/08, they only ship by DHL, tracked package daily, and it was due to be delivered 7/2/08. It never arrived, and repeated calls to DHL, and 6th Ave. were not helpful at all. Customer service was poor, no follow-up, no concern for my requests (was only patronized). Called weekly and was told that the replacement was being shipped in 24-48 hours, second follow up was the same story when I asked for the new tracking number.
Then, today when I called again, I was told that the camera was received back (that I had returned it! Nothing could be further from the truth, no attempt at delivery was EVER made) and they had issued me a refund. A month has gone by and I did not have a camera for my trip...What a mistake dealing with this company! Don't waste your time! |

Not only are they incredibly incompetent in delivering the thing, but they want to charge me extra for the shipping if I seek a refund. That's right- I have been waiting for this tv, which I paid for immediately, for a month, and they want to charge me twice for shipping- giving me nothing in return, but a hole in my bank account. Buy elsewhere.

Sixth Avenue sells items that real stores would not. We bought a 7" digital photo frame from 6th avenue, and when we brought it home, it was absolutely the worst product with the worst resolution ever. We called them to ask for a refund, and now they are deciding to charge "restocking fee" and also charge for the "to and from" freight, even though we received free shipping when we ordered the item. Bottom Line: Do not be fooled by cheap prices (we though $30 was a good deal for a dpf) but like they saying goes, you get what you pay for. Bottom Line: We didn't do our research before we bought from Sixth Avenue. If we had just looked at their reviews, we would have been saved. If you want to save your money and get good products, do not by from 6th Avenue. They'll just keep your money and sell you crap.

I ordered a Canon Power shot SD870 camera from 6th Avenue electronics from buy.com on April 3rd, 2008. Since then, I never receive any confirmation email from the merchant website, only seeing the money has been deducted from my credit card account. However, when I received it today(April 11). I realize that obviously , the camera box has been opened, and careless packed. What's worse, there's no battery, no interface cable, no waist strip. There 's only the camera and a battery charger. The feeling is aweful and I would never buy anything from this website again.

I ordered a camcorder. 8 days later I called and was told it was in stock and being transferred from the warehouse. 9 days after ordering I was told the same story. 12 days after ordering I was told it was backordered and that I was sent an email a week ago (this was a lie!!). Credit card was charged prior to having the item in stock (Lie #2 is that 6ave states my credit card is not charged until item was shipped.) 23 days after ordering I still have no refund on my credit card. I am sure it will show up eventually. These folks lied to me about haveing the item in stock and about notifing me when it was back ordered. I ordered the item from amazon.com. It shipped in 4 days. I paid $20 more at amazon but what a hassle dealing with 6ave and shopping.com!!!

I was nervous about ordering an expensive plasma screen from a retailer that I wasn't familiar with but after talking to Scott Menzel, I was really put at ease. He really knew everything about TVs and I consider myself to be an absolute research nerd. He is really up to date on his information. Service was great and the TV arrived fast and without a glitch....LOVE, Love, love the Panasonic plasma, especially for sports. Great experience and would definitely use 6th Avenue Electronics again. No one could touch their price either!

I have been shopping at 6th ave for about 10 years at least 12 years. All the time and work they put into there jobs explaining every part of the equipment or TV your buying is great. They explain everything. Anyone having a problem buying from sixth ave has no right shopping at all on line.All the flyers mark downs and different type of guarantee they have are good for for budget shoppers up to the high end audio nut who love there top quality gear.satisfaction is a 10 every time i shop there.

Had a great experience purchasing a panasonic th-50pz750u plasma tv at 6th ave. Got a fantastic price and service to match. Initially, I was a little hesitant about buying an expensive tv online, but Scott M guided me through the process. My tv was in stock and arrived on schedule - in six business days. The 6th ave tracking system worked well. I paid extra for I-CAT but feel this custom delivery service is overpriced. If you have a large tv delivered request I-CAT to send two people. They add minimal value for $125. Do your homework on purchasing the extended warranty and hdmi cables from 6th Ave.

Simply go to eBay and notice how many negative feedbacks have been used as a "punishment" for the buyer when leaving a negative feedback for 6th Ave. Many buyers claim weeks for delivery; 6A retorts as "no payment received." Notice also how many negatives issued by 6th Ave were for "bad address" or "invalid e-mail." Finally, if you are willing to take the time, a thorough review of negative feedbacks by 6th Ave against buyers are in "waves of similar negatives." For example, between May 28, 2007 and June 3, 2007, 6th Ave left 5 feedbacks - ALL NEGATIVE and starting with exact phrase, "NON PAYING BIDDER. . . Geez, if I were a vendor and had that many non-paying bidders, I would quit selling on eBay!
Lastly, for entertainment reading, look how many buyers claim their feedback from 6th Ave were LIES. A fun read, if you wish. |
