I ordered a Canon 70-200 on the 13th of this month, two days before the deadline for Christmas shipment.  As of three days later I got no shipment confirmation or backorder notice, only an order confirmation.  I just called to find out the status and was told that the lens was backordered and it would not arrive until next year, even though I received no communication as such, and bought this to gift to a friend.
Basically, I have no lens, apparently will not have it for at least a month, and was given no notification about this.  DO NOT BUY from Calumet if you expect them to keep their word.  They are a DECEITFUL COMPANY!

I bought a 50mm lens from Calumet. It was delivered exactly when they said it would be. It was a first class, fast service. They're not the cheapest online photographic retailer, but I do think that they are trustworthy and knowledgeable. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

A good indicator is the printed magazine that they now send me four times a year. It's a glossy sales pitch but it's very well produced and shows how good their busness model is. They sell all kinds of photographic equipment from small, compact cameras to studio lighting.

With major photographic purchases often being expensive, I believe it makes sense to buy from a company like Calumet. They appear to know their business and care about their reputation.

I placed the order for Coolpix P5100 through Calumet website on Sunday, December 2nd and received my camera at Friday, December 7th; ground UPS
It was some confusion related to order tracking caused mainly by UPS and lack of ability to track the order on Calumet website but customer support was very friendly and helpful. I’ll continue using this store myself and would highly recommend to everyone

Canon EF 500mm "L" series lens, priced at over $5,000 in the U.S. are finally mine - thanks to Calumet Photo!
Actually, I placed an order with their competitors first, but they were not able to ship me the item - but indeed kept my money for ELEVEN DAYS!!!
So, after getting my money back from the competitor's site, I decided to try Calumet Photo (thanks to positive feedback for this site).
And what a breeze! The item was shipped the same day as I payed for it and was delivered in 3 business days! And that's an international order!
The lens were very carefully packaged, the communication was very prompt and efficient - two thumbs up, Calumet !

Not only it was fast and efficient - this also saved me a lot of money, as I saved over $3,000 with this order, compared with the prices in local shops.

Wow...really impressed with these folks. Located a hard-to-find digital camera at their San Diego store. Couldn't have dealt with more friendly, cooperative, and genuine glad-you're-our-customer type people. And, when you phone there, you get REAL people on the telephone without a 30 minute wait.

There are lots of low-life camera sellers on the internet ready to scam unsuspecting folks. This is not one of them.

I have been buying from these folks for at least 20 years. They are knowlegeable, and trustworthy.

If they cost a wee bit more, it's worth it because of the awesome customer service.
