No customer service, even from CEO!

After receiving a discount coupon I placed an online order with Vitamin Shoppe. They did not give me the appropriate discount so I contacted customer service four times, without any response whatsoever!
I called the CEO who promised resolution, but nothing happened. If that is the case, what else could I do? Terrible attitude and terrible customer service. Regardless of the product quality, no customer service = terrible service. I would never recommend or buy from this company! |

I have shopped at Vitamin Shoppe for years without any problems. But the first time I decided to order something from their website, it was a disaster. Late one night I inadvertently order the wrong product (the listings are confusing) and tried to cancel the order. Found out that IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. Once you've placed the order, there is no going back. So I called them the next morning the minute the call center opened, and they told me, basically, tough luck, they could not change the order. Most websites have a "cooling off" period in case people make mistakes, so you can go back in and fix mistakes in your order. This one doesn't.

the items came very quickly and they did respond to my complaint within 2 days, but fundamentally watch out! Free shipping ONLY applies to US and territories, I paid $48 for my $100 order to be shipped to the UK, then had to pay $80 tp the UPS man in cash when it arrived at my door for some sort of taxes.
If you are not in the US, don't buy from this site, the shipping costs more than the products! |

Vitamin Shoppe overcharged my debit card by over two hundred dollars. I have been waiting a week and it's still not fixed. Every time I call to speak to customer service it takes at least 30 min on hold if your lucky to talk to a customer service rep.

Canadian and International Buyers BEWARE!
I live in Canada and even after paying $20 shipping & handling, I was charged an additional $21.00 upon delivery to UPS. This is ridiculous. My order was a small package of 3 items and cost only $62.00 and I had to end up paying $41 for shipping!! IF you do not live in the US , do not order from here! I have also heard of other people having the same experience! |

Some of the products I wanted to purchase did NOT have adequate information available to compare them (i.e., ingredients, amounts, sources, etc) and so I was able to purchase only those products I was already familiar with. Full information should be available on ALL products offered. (The photos of labels are too small to read.)
Also, the lid on the coconut oil jar was very, very loose and the inner seal was not tight enough to prevent leaking when the oil liquified at higher temperatures. There was evidence that oil had leaked into the box, packing materials and packing slip (soaked). Please have your packers check that lids are tight and perhaps tape them shut to prevent loosening in transit.

Vitamin Shoppe has a great selection and good prices. However, their website is very hard to use. Once you put an item in your cart and hit "continue shopping" you are not returned to where you were but back to the Home page and you must start all over again. That is a pain!

I placed the order in early August. I opted for the free shipping, which takes some time. I received an E Mail saying that one item in my four item order was backordered, but would be in their warehouse on the 22nd.
I received three items. They were in good condition, but the box was badly dented. They really need to use stronger shipping boxes.
On the 22nd I called about the 4th item, and was told that it was coming in on the 29th, and that I might not receive it for up to 10 days later. As I was planning to go on vacation during that time, I was obliged to cancel the item.

I am really disapointed in the time of delivery and the shredded boxes that I have recieved. I have researched to find new outlets to recieve the products that I need. I probably will not order from you again. Free shipping should not mean 3 week shipping and you should provide expediated shipping for those whom need it.

The store and products are wonderful. The "free shipping" e-mails offers are terrible. Several times, including this order, I receive an e-mail offering free shipping if I enter a "code number" I complete the process, enter the "free" shipping code and am then charged for shipping. I then call customer service, wait for an agent, who tells me EVERY time - we are having some problems with computer -- will refund shipping. The shipping is refunded or not charged. It is quite frustrating to go through this experience so frequently with the Vitamin Shoppe!!
