BUYER BEWARE!!!I recently purchased an 'OPEN BOX" dehumidifier with a 3 yr warranty that was offered. A few days after the dehumidifier arrived, the registration card arrived. Upon registering the item I was told an OPEN BOX item was not eligible for an extended warranty and that they would credit my cc for the $39.99 that I paid. I would not have bought the item had I not been able to extend the warranty. I will not choose to do business with them in the future thoough I have in the past.

I've had a loathesome experience with this company.
In my opinion, they sell refurbished junk. Will never purchase from this site again. The extended warrenty is laughable. |

Unlike some other reviewers, I have found the products they sell and the delivery time for them to be first-rate. That said, I still will probably not do business with them in the future. Two months ago I made a sizable purchase from them.

Finding what we wanted was fast and easy. We ordered on line and received it faster than we expected. We are building a room in the finished cellar. We aren't to the stage of even opening the box yet. As soon as we get more done and get ready to place it in the room by the bar, we will know more. I had to say we received it in good quality. It is still in the box!

After researching and comparison shopping on the net, I ordered my refrigerator from Compact Appliance. I am very pleased with the performance of my appliance and feel it was worth waiting for the back order. The refrigerator is much roomier than I expected, and I would shop with this site again.

Ordering is easy, and shipping is OK, but customer service is Horrible. Nobody wants to help and you cannot return defective products. I will never order from them again. I wish I had read these reviews before I ordered. The Edgestar Icemaker I ordered does not make ice, but I can't return it, I have to get "warranty" service from edgestar (part of Living direct, that also owns Compactappliances). Only they don't answer the phone.

Funny you sent this today! I have to call them tomorrow because the cooler is not "cooling" the wine at acceptable temperatures. WAY too hot even when it is set at the coldest setting! Not what they said it would do!

I have been pleased with both of my purchases from Compact Appliance. My only complaint is the freight company used to send my washer/dryer. "Saya" or something like that. The delivery was an hour and a half AFTER the four hour window of time specified and THEY NEVER CONTACTED ME TO TELL ME! When I called them, they were less than helpful. The only saving grace was the actual delivery driver, Mark. He was very nice and extremely helpful. If it had not been for him I would have refused delivery and sent the purchase back.

I would not reccomend compactappliance.com. If it sounds too good to be true - it probably is. I was ordering a portable air conditioner so taking into consideration it weighs about 70lbs, the free shipping drew me in. I was ordering it for my 88 year old mother who was sitting in 95 degrees so I got in a bit of a hurry and ordered it before reading the company reviews.
Upon reading the reviews, most of which were negative, ranging from unsecure practices to non-working appliances and damage in shipping I tried to cancel the order. The site would not let me cancel, telling me there was no record of my order. I called their phone number with no better results. Although someone did actually answer he said he couldn't make cancelations, Couldn't access internet orders, all he could do was take phone orders. He gave me the office hours for customer service and hung up. When I checked my credit card it had already been charged. So they took my money but had no record of my order. |

I returned a Koolatron Krusader 12v Cooler and they did not credit my paypal account. I had to call twice and still get a runaround about when the check will go out. If your not on top of your order they will not return your money. Lots of time and stress, and I still don't have my money back.

I ordered the Wagan 7 liter personal cooler & warmer from Compact Appliance. When I ordered this it said that it should ship the same day. It's a week later and it still has not been shipped. It's sitting in their warehouse. I called this morning to cancel my order because I needed this 2 days ago! I paid the extra 18.00 for the 2 day shipping.
When I called they said that it could've been backordered and their website hadn't been updated. As they checked he said, "No, it wasn't backordered & he wasn't sure WHY it hadn't shipped yet." The guy was nice enough but all in all I wouldn't ever buy from them again. I'm waiting for them to call back with a cancellation number. I refuse to buy this item now considering it should've been here last Thursday at the latest & it's now Monday and still not here! |
