I had a terrible experience with YLighting. They described the light I ordered incorrectly, they responded extremely slowly to my concerns afterwards (weeks would pass and I would hear nothing), and in the end, did nothing to fix my problem other than offer me a $25 gift certificate for a future purchase. (The lamp was a walk mount only and their customer service said it came with a cord and wall bracket) Unless your order arrives without any problems (e.g., not damaged), this place will cause you a lot of headaches.

Fixtures arrived damaged due to inadequate packing by the manufacturer. YLighting refused to take them back, insisted that they be shipped back to the manufacturer in Europe, who would determine if my refund was warranted. Months of phone calls to YLighting, to the manufacturer, emails, and surprise UPS customs charges later, the money was refunded.
YLighting has no warehouse, no inventory. When you order something, they contact the manufacturer, who then ships the item to you. If everything runs smoothly, you got a good deal. If there are problems, you are in INTERNET RETAIL HELL. |

These people are a total nightmare. I ordered the lighting and go no information regarding shipping until I asked three days later when they told me it would be three days before it shipped. Two weeks later I asked about it and they simply sent me a UPS tracking number showing me that they are literally trying to deliver unsucessfully two states away from where we live. I'm done with this company and they will never get any business from me again. I suggest you stay far, far, far away from them!

I've bought modern lighting from these guys five times and things have gone off smoothly and quickly. One time some glass broke in shipping and they took care of it- no problem. I've spoken to a few of the guys in sales and they really know their stuff. I love everything I've gotten from them, especially the Big Bang chandelier from Foscarini.
Other things I've bought from them in the past include table lamps from Flos and Artemide (the Tolomeo is everywhere but it is still a classic that will never go out of style), the Random light from Moooi (a big but airy chandelier made out of fiberglass) and the Caboche chandelier by Patricia Urquiola for Foscarini. |

I had a wonderful experience shopping at YLighting. My item arrived damaged, which is no ones fault, so I followed the "reporting damage" instructions and called YLighting. I spoke to the representative that handles the damage claims and she explained to me what would happen after reporting the damage. I received the replacement shortly after that. Their customer service department was very knowledgeable and courteous. I will definitely be shopping at YLighting again.

Horrendous experience...received damaged merchandise and wanted to exchange. They flat out refuse to respond to emails and hide behind their voicemail. I did get through on the phone one time and was told I had to speak with "Debbie but she's at lunch, bye." BUYER BEWARE

I tried to order a $500 designer pendant lamp from Ylighting's website, and even tho it is clearly stated that the minimum order for shipment overseas (in my case Italy) is $500, I received an arrogant email from a certain Justin stating that the minimum was in fact $1500, and that unless I was prepared to spend that kind of money, I should not bother them!
