Do not do business with ventingdirect. Do not buy Kobe range hood.

Originally I had positive experience with ventingdirect when I ordered a Kobe range hood from them. However, after using the range hood for severl month, oil started to dripping from the control buttons. I wrote an honest review for the Kobe range hood. But after several weeks, they didn't post it. And then  I asked the customer what was happening. Here is their answer:
"Your reviews and feedback are important to us, and are valuable to continued improved service. There are different types of reviews that are responded to. Some are public, some are for research, and some are about specific products that are listed on our site. If you would like to post a public review you may do so at Nextag.com or Bizrate.com. Please let me know if there is anything further that I can do for you. I am happy to be of assistance".
Appearantly, they only allow good reviews to be posted. Be careful with venting direct. Be careful with Kobe range hood (Costco originally sell "Brillia by Kobe range hoods" brand range hoods. But now they don't sell Brillia any more).

HEED THE WARNINGS - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!
This company has inconsiderate, unresponsive customer service, and an incompetent online tracking system.  I would also NOT recommend KOBE products.  Ordered a rangehood, it arrived damaged, attempted to call and email VD, no response.  Finally cold-called CS department, filed complaint and promised a response.  Two days later, nothing, so called back, found someone in CS who would issue a credit and ship out another unit from Kobe.  (Bad decision).  This one came in good condition, but it was THE WRONG ITEM!  Tried calling back the same CS person, no answer, left message, requesting a refund.  Another day passes, no response.  I ventured through their website and found out how to request an online RGA and shipping return label.  Waited the 5 days as promised, NOTHING!  Called back, the CS person told me they had no record of an incorrect item to be returned!! WHAT?! Told them to get this handled asap and get a refund to me yesterday!  Still waiting to get a response and a refund.  Filed a complaint with the BBB as well.  SHOP LOCAL!

I ordered an Air King range hood on June 7. Ventingdirect.com charged my card that day, without having inventory in stock. Today is July 23, still not in stock. The company only emails updates on order status in response to my phone inquiries. (You would think a company that can generate emails automatically in response to customers calls could program a backorder email.) I cancelled the order today, requesting full refund. As usual, I immediately received an email providing a new ship date (auto-generated one-week out, as is their custom), followed by a separate email acknowledging my request for cancellation. Email reads somewhat cryptically: "This is not an offical cancellation notice. This is only a request to cancel. This email is to inform you of your recent request to cancel your product(s). The warehouse has been contacted, per your request and once the cancellation is confirmed, you will be notified via email or phone." I'm not holding my breath.

Venting direct charged my credit card but no tracking number???

Please do not shop this online store. I placed and order on 11/20/2008 and my credit card was charged on 11/23/2008. As of today, I have not receive any tracking number. I went to the website and said  backorder will be delivery on 12/05/2008. But still have not receive the tracking number. I email venting direct to cancel my order and have a full refund. This is unethical practice.

Terrible, one of the worst online experiences ever

Horrendous, I ordered, a week later they said it'd take a few weeks to ship, I cancelled, they still shipped the product, 1 month later it showed up at my door.  I refused the product.  Called and requested a refund, it was never processed, 2 months later of phone calls it was processed minus shipping, handling and a restocking fee.

These guys are CON-ARTISTS

I have never had a worse shopping experience!!!! We ordered a medicine cabinet to replace the one we broke. They shipped us one with a broken mirror. We called to have it replaced. They sent us another broken one. So do you think that the 3rd time would be a charm??? NO!!! We now have 4 broken medicine cabinets. They were poorly packed and I had asked that they be shipped better and nothing changed. I WILL NEVER, EVER order through this company again.

I found what I was looking for, and also found the people that I talked to to be very friendly and knowledgeable.
Delivery was a little slow, but I ordered Thanksgiving week.
I had questions about installation and got the help I was looking for.

Ordered over the phone. Had to go through the online products page to guide customer service to the right part. Customer service lied about availability.
Charged my card when they took the order but the product never arrived even after 10 days and the status page on their customer service page has not been updated and the email exchanges revealed that they had no idea when the order will be available.

Bottomline: Take your business elsewhere.

Don't waste your time!

This has absolutely been the worst online shopping experience I have ever had. I order a Fedders air conditioning unit. Once it arrived, it appeared to be in good condition, but I installed it and noticed that it wasn't cooling air at all. I contacted customer service and it basically took more than two months to get the return authorization number for the defective unit. I was essentially given the runaround for two months with excuses that included the warehouse is backed up, we cannot process the return manually, etc. etc. I've had to constantly call customer service, and I had to dispute the charge on my credit card. According to their website, the return should have been ready to go in less than two weeks!!!

I too ordered an Air King range vent from Venting Direct through Amazon.com. I also received notice that the order was canceled because the actual cost was higher than advertised. The price is still advertised here at shopping.com and amazon.com at the wrong price. Venting Direct is a disreputable business that is still allowed to do business through shopping.com and amazon.com. Why is this allowed? When asked about the above stated opinion from May 20, 2005, the customer service supervisor stated that they do not know why the price remains wrongly advertised even from May 20. I told him that I was going to contact the Better Business Bureau and he stated that I would receive legal action from Venting Direct.

After I ordered an Air King range vent from Venting Direct by way of amazon, I received notice that the order was canceled and that the actual cost, if I still decided to buy it, was $90.00 more that the price stated. This is classic bait and switch. I would not order anything from Venting direct.
