I ordered a Cybershot camera from Sony recently. The site was easy to navigate and provided a lot of information about the features available on each product. They also have a lot of sales. The one I wanted was $30 off, and offer I couldn't find anywhere else. Shipping was free and deliver was quick. I love my new camera and would definitely recommend the site to other users.

I ordered a lens as a christmas present, but it was damaged in shipping. (Fedex didn't even deliver it.) 5 days later...nothing from Sony despite several emails and several calls. Their service reps say there's nothing they can do and that it's some other department that takes care of this. Their path is clear: send me another one, immediately. Why is this so hard for them? I would order another one from a more reliable retailer, but if Sony all of a sudden does their job and ships one, I don't want two.
Extremely disappointed. Sony should stick to making stuff and abandon their byzantine attempt at stores. |

Never will I order from Sony Style again! I placed a order for a PS3 Bundle which included 2 free games on 11/30/2009. I received my order without the games. I contacted customer service and was told I should have received the games and that they were on back order. They offered me a 20% discount on my next order instead. I told them I wanted the 2 free games and not the 20% discount. We'll here it is July 2010 and no games. They keep offering me the 20% offer! I would never order from them again! I can't believe they won't uphold their original offer. Stay away from Sony Style! Their customer service is terrible!

I've placed 3 orders on Sonystyle.comThe first, a vaio, is shipped the day the order is placed.the second for Call of Duty 6 hardened edition. The order is placed on 9/23, and I hope the shipping will be made right on release of game... Yet on 11/20, ten days after the release, I called them, waited for half an hour listening to some silly music, then learned I've got to continue my wait... So I've got to cancel the order, reorder from Amazon, which shipped right on the order day...The last try, because they offer a free controller for any ps3, is made... They say they will ship it on 11/21, and now it's 23 and they say they are still processing...

Like so many that have written reviews about Sony Style, my experience has been horrible. I found an item on their site that I wanted. It was listed as being in stock when I ordered it. Most ecommerce websites process transactions in 24 hrs and ship the item the next day or two. When I went to the site to track my order (which took FOREVER because the site is the s l o w e s t I've come across) I find that the estimated ship date is 2 days ago! Hmmmm. I wrote an email to "support". When I was finished sending it the site said I would get a response within 4 business hours. I still have yet to get a response back from them. Bottom line...I canceled the order just to be rid of the frustration! This has to be the worst experience I've had in buying off the web. After reading several of the reviews posted here I'm not surprised they are getting so many bad reviews. Don't get me wrong, you MIGHT get lucky like some of the folks have, but BEWARE, that seems to be the exception, not the rule.

Sony Style cancelled an order for an in-stock product 11 days after the order, and 9 days after it was suppose to ship - WITHOUT EXPLANATION - product is now listed as available at a higher price. Customer support did nothing, and took 40 minutes on hold to get through. Sales agent "apologized", and when asked to speak to a supervisor, was told I would be called back - no call. Apparently Sony Style felt it could sell at a higher price, so it cancelled (and too late to take advantage of other after Christmas pricing from other internet retailers).

Nonexistent Customer Service! I ordered a refurbished Sony HT CT100 and the item wasn't to ship for 5 more days. Five minutes after placing the order I attempted to cancel and Sony's system doesn't have the ability to cancel an order because it automatically shows everything has been shipped already when it hasn't been. Talked to five different agents, all were extremely rude and unprofessional. Finally canceled order but Sony charged half of the entire order price for a "restocking fee" on a item that never even left their warehouse. I purchase everything online and by far this was my worst online experience ever. DON'T PURCHASE FROM SONY DIRECTLY OR YOU WILL BE SORRY!! Just go to Best Buy or something, at least they are remotely willing to work with their customers and don't operate shipping off an out of date system that can't even properly record shipping dates.

Bought a KDL 46XBR4 high definition lcd television for nearly 3,000.00 US from SonyStyle.com. Easy ordering, fast delivery.
When others warn about bad customer service, please believe it. Worked for three, yes three, hours. Completely dark, power on, no picture. Tech guy (who came out two weeks after delivery of the set): Looks like you need three new circuit boards. But, bad news is no parts are available. You'd be better off returning it. You'd think SonyStyle would like to make that right. Right? Wrong. Over a month now, and despite numerous phone calls, emails, promises, "sorry, sirs," and stonewalling, still no resolution. No return authorization. Since the "process" has now taken over 30 days, "Sorry, you are outside the 30-day return period." Unbelievable. Small claims, here I come? So, a very expensive dust magnet sitting in my living room. Whatever you do, don't give away your old set. Keep it as a backup, if not you'll never hear the end of it from your family (who told you so)! |

Absolutely miserable. Sonystyle is so ridiculous that if you purchased something through their Finance department via sonystyle.com from July 4 - July 10 2008 it was inexplicably cancelled. Wonderful.
I've tried calling Sonystyle numerous times over the last few days to get an answer as to why my extended service plan was cancelled in my laptop order. Most times I call I am transferred to a headset that someone put down on the desk. I can hear people talking in the background but no one responds verbally. This has to be one of the worst run customer relations divisions in the world. |

I bought a refurb sony from sonystyle.com, the price if was new was 1600.00. I paid 941.00 they really said the could not tell me the condition of the laptop, It works perfect, they said.
I ordered on a thursday and was shipped on Friday, 1 day, recieved the package tuesday!!! Very quick!!! The laptop was perfect no marks on it and I love my new pink laptop!!!! I would buy from sony style again in a heartbeat!!!! UPDATE 8/13/07 Major problems with the refurb laptop, wll not buy anything Sony again |

I was very pleased and impressed with the Sony site. I ordered a $2500 laptop computer and all went well. It arrived on time, packaged correctly, and I haven't had any problems with the unit. I ordered it in September. The product itself is awesome (VAIO). It was a joy to make such a big purchase without any issues. I highly recommend online ordering from the Sony site.

I bought a walkman CD player for a Christmas present. Submitted the order, everything was fine. After about a week, I went to the SonySytle website to check my order and it said the item was out of stock. I sent customer service an email asking them to cancel the order because it was out of stock and there was not enough time to receive it before Christmas. I was told that they could not guarantee my order would be canceled but she would put in the request. The very next day, the item shipped. Thinking the order would be canceled, I ordered from another retailer, got it in 2 days. Now I will have 2 and have to return the one to Sony. This should be fun.

Based on my experience I urge you not to buy from sony style or sony.com (same place). I tried to purchase a VAIO computer from their Small Business section. They sent the wrong computer. They didnt want to pay to return it and acted like it was my fault. Took 3 hours on the phone to get them to pay return shipping. It was a big runaround and cost me a whole day of work.
They wouldnt credit my card until one week after the computer was received back in their offices. This was not unreasonable, but when I called my credit card company, the charge was still there a month later! I called Sony and they said they would take care of it right away, but the charge is still there. Following up now a week later, Sony still hasnt credited my card account and it's been 5 weeks. Since my credit card payment is due, I had to call the credit card company and dispute the charge. What a nightmare. These folks dont know how to run a business! Buy from someone else! |

After reading all the negative reviews about Sony Style. I would rather pay more money and have customer satisfaction and dealer support.
You also have to wonder about the good reviews posted about this site. Kind of looks like someone from Sony Style wrote them trying to redeem themselves. Im very surprised that the Sony hasnt intervened. Sony Style is giving them a bad name and major companies tend to frown on vendors like this. Thanks to everyone who took the timeout to write these reviews. Im sure many people have learned by your bad experience. |

I RECOMMEND YOU AVOID THE SONY STYLE ONLINE STORE. THEY WERE ABSOLUTELY NO HELP TO ME AND NOTHING BUT A SOURCE OF FRUSTRATION. I RATE THEM A ZERO OUT OF TEN. I logged on and used their 20% discount coupon code that I received with my HC30 camera that I bought from another firm. The code did not work. I emailed Sony customer service. Their automatic response stated they would contact me in 12 hours. It's been 36. To make matters worse, when trying to do a search of the product eligible for the 20% discount, I found that Sony literally scrambled all their products so I had to search group by group for over an hour before I found what I wanted. To make matters worse, their checkout cart would not give me the discount, even after entering the discount code. I'm going elsewhere and may have to pay full retail to get the products I need.

I ordered a digital camera via overnight shipping from Sony Style. Had them confirm a couple of times that the camera was in stock and would be shipped within a business day. Based on past experience (but not with Sony) I don't have much faith that overnight shipping actually is overnight, However, I needed the camera within five days and, hoping that overnight would not be more than 5 days, placed my order on a Sunday. Camera shipped on Monday. Delivered on Tuesday. Everything was perfect - had also ordered an extra memory stick and camera case. Camera is beautiful and takes great pictures. More in depth review of the camera after my road trip.
This was my second purchase from Sony. Also bought a desktop from them about six months. Although I had a problem with monitor, they handled it very well and to my satisfaction. |
