I bought what was to be one of the best Stern's & Foster matresses from Macy's and after 1.5 years it sinks in the middle like you are falling in a hole. Called Macy's and they lay a strong across it and tell me it is fine. Not happy with my customer service experience at Macy's at all!!! If this is how they treat all other purchases I would avod them if I were you and I will not shop with them again.

Used Macy's for wedding gift registry and their website is the absolute worst. Unbelievably slow and it frequently logged me out. If you have lots of idle time, this might be the site for you. If you care about wasting time, use another vendor.

Ordered an online birthday gift card January 4.....still waiting for it on January 18.....customer service said it is coming ALL THE WAY FROM Corporate Headquarters----less than an hour away from the address where the delievery was to be made. FINISHED with this company. The customer service dept is the pits. Still no resolution to the issue...

HORRIBLE!!!!!! I spent hours combing through the sale items on the last day of a big sale. I was so excited to have acquired over 40 items, some for my family and many Christmas presents. I received a confirmation of my order shortly after placing it. A week later I received another email from Macy's stating that my order could not be completed, no explination just 'sorry for any inconvenience'. I am furious and will NEVER shop at Macy's again!!

DO NOT ORDER FROM MACY'S IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE THE US!!! I had to return a $93. jacket that didn't fit and they charged me $42.00 to send it back. All the customer service rep would say was that it "wasn't their fault it didn't fit"...seriously? NEVER had such a horrible online purchase experience. "Customer Service" was completely unable or unwilling to help me.
Go to zappos.com and get real customer service, with NO charge for returns. No I don't work for zappos but have always been very pleased with their service. |

I ordered a sofa 10/10/11 and was promised delivery by mid November. Two weeks after my order I got an E-mail saying I would not get the sofa until after the end of November (after Thanksgiving!). I tried to resolve this but got the run around. It is impossible to reach someone by phone and E-mail takes days. I ended up cancelling my order today after I looked and founf the sofa is now on sale for a significant discount. No one offered me a refund of the difference. Looks like I will not have living room furniture for Thanksgiving! Thanks a lot Macys.

HORRIFIC expereince!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I place an order 09/10/11 & on 09/12/11 I got an email that my order was cance'lled & had to reorder!!! So I did but had to pay more & I ordered 1 less item then the orginal order cuz it was out of stock today!!!!! When I got my confirmation the shipping address was the billing address which wasn't what I put!!! So I called & sat on hold for 30 minutes to correct it!!! Then low & behold... I get another email saying that my order was cancelled AGAIN!!!!! Called & sat on hold forever again & got it corrected!!! Guess what email confirmation..... wrong address again!!!!! Called & WAITED & the girl offerred expedited shipping but that's what I already paid for & well I guess I'm screwed!!!!!!! Not only did I pay more for my order than orginally with less items I can't even get my stuff when I wanted it!!!
As of tomorrow I'm cancelling my Macys card & telling everyone how horrific they are!!!! DO NOT SHOP THERE!!!!!!! |

We registered with Macy's during one of their "Sip and Scan" registry events, which was a lot of fun - free appetizers and "mocktails," DJ, florist, etc. There were also a handful of other freebies and giveaways. Our registry was easy to adjust online, and when I called asking for help in determining who had sent a specific gift, they were friendly and were able to direct me to where I could find the information on the website. The only reason I am not rating them a 5 is because I received about three or four of my registry items from multiple people. I am not sure if the purchases were recorded improperly, or if my guests forgot to mention they were buying the items as part of my registry, but given that this happened multiple times, I would encourage Macy's to take steps to prevent this in the future (e.g. perhaps train their sales people to ask customers if they are purchasing gifts from a registry at checkout, if feasible).

Ordered two rugs online from Macy's. Same merchandise label on both rugs but I received two different sized rugs (Macy's error). Returned "wrong" rug for the correct size >> 10 emails and 2 phone calls later to Customer Service and still no rug. But my credit card was charged in full for 2 rugs! They never acknowledged receiving my returned rug (with their UPS label) - acted like I was ripping them off. Finally (4 weeks later), they gave me a credit BUT I WANTED THE RUG not a refund. Now I have to reorder without the online discount plus pay new (additional) shipping to purchase the rug so I have a matching set (as originally ordered). Is that how they treat loyal, long term customers? Unbelievable, how 12 different Customer Service people can get it so wrong. I just wanted the rug I ordered... is it really that tough? Seriously.

HORRIBLE! I ordered my dad 2 pairs of Ralph lauren tennis shoes for father's day. I accidentally put the wrong zip code on the order. I called 2x to correct the order and each time I was told that the problem was corrected. Well, today I checked the tracking and of course the error was never corrected and now my dad will not have his gift from his oldest son on Father's day. I feel horrible and am so ANGRY at Macy's it's unreal

I ordered a comforter set on Macys.com. When it arrived they managed to screw up the order & send me the wrong color even though the correct color & correct sku are clearly detailed in the description. Return process is very inconvenient, time consuming and convoluted for the end user. You will not be able to contact a live person to deal with the problem either.

We had a horrible experience with Macy's wedding registry. Many of our guests ordered items from our registry, and it said they were in stock at the time, and then the items ended up being backordered for months. Also, one guest bought us 9 crystal goblets off our registry, but they were all backordered for between 2 and six months. At some point Macys just cancelled the order, but they did not send us any email or notification of the cancellation. I just called now (8 months after our wedding) and found out it was cancelled in June and no one told us! Had I known at that time I could have taken advantage of the bridal registry discounts that we were offered, as well used some of the store credit we had from returns to complete our crystal collection. Or, we could have returned the few goblets we had! I will never ever buy anything form Macys registries again and will encourage all of my friends not so use Macy's wedding registry. Their customer service is horrible!

Terrible customer service. I ordered a jacket from Macy's online TWICE and it was cancelled both times because they forgot to update the website. Finally, I called customer service, who said the item was backordered, but that they would waive shipping if I was willing to wait. Great, or so I thought. I had asked for an e-mail confirmation for my order, which I never received. Had I gotten it, I would have seen that the customer service rep ordered the wrong size. I had to return the item I waited so long for. Now, having jumped through hoop after hoop, Macy's doesn't have this item anymore. Even after e-mailing customer service, I didn't even get an apology. Just a statement saying that my issue has been "resolved".
Department stores like Macy's are a dime a dozen. You can get most of the same items elsewhere. It's all about PRICE and CUSTOMER SERVICE. Macy's has decent prices, but terrible customer service. If customer service is important you to, I would go elsewhere. Personally, I'll never shop there again. |

I ordered an item from MACYS.COM with a $50 gift card. The total cost of the item, with taxes/shipping, came to approx $60. So my intention was to put $50 on the Gift Card and the remaining $10 on my Credit Card...easy? To my surprise they put the entire $60 cost on my credit card. So I looked for an option at MACYS.COM to change/correct the form of payment.... or even cancel my order and start again... Well you would think in the 21st century that a simple problem like that could be fixed in a mouse stroke...think again: MACYS.COM DOESN'T ALLOW FOR "CANCELLATIONS" OR "FORM OF PAYMENT CHANGES" ONCE AN ORDER IS PLACED. So don't make any mistakes, or god forbid, change your mind. I then called customer service and talked to a manager, who reitirated MACYS.COM's arcane "NO CANCELLATION" policy, but said she would try to rectify the situation and change my form of payment. FOUR weeks later...bupkiss...$60 all on my Credit Card statement....Everytime I call the manager, she isn't there. I'm filing complaints with consumer protection and the state attorney general's office. |

I needed a coffeemaker. I read reviews and chose a model. Macy's was having a one day sale with all the coffeemakers 40% off. I went into the store to make sure they stocked the one I wanted. I spoke to a clerk about it. I then went back on the day of the sale. I was told it was out of stock and had been for a long time. I could order it on Macy's.com. That was TWO WEEKS AGO AND IT WON'T BE HERE FOR ANOTHER WEEK! Why did they wait a week to ship it and then send it on the slowest route possible. This has been an extremely frustrating experience. I could buy a similar model at Target and have it today. After driving 30 miles out of my way twice and waiting what will be over three weeks this has been a terrible experience.

I ordered furniture from Macy's Furniture in Oakbrook, Illinois. We ordered a bedroom set, living room let and family room set all from Macy's. The bedroom furniture had to be touched up because it was slightly damaged. My coffee table has been exchanged 5 times so far. Macy's customer service area will tell you, if you experience this, that they will give the furniture a "presidential inspection" before it's delivered. Obviously, with 5 exchanges, this was a lie. The last time I received the coffee table, it did not even match the end table. Customer service is horrible. It's taken over 6 mths to resolve this issue, although I paid for the tables in full already. The Director of Delivery contacted me and I have yet to hear back from him on how this will be rectified, even though he said he'd return my call. I am EXTREMELY disatisfied with Macy's furniture. I would NEVER purchase anything from Macys again. I would NEVER recommend Macys furniture to anyone. They lie, are rude and will not resolve issues.

I purchased a Samsonite suitcase from Macys.com but I received a different suitcase. So far I have contacted customer service five times. The first three times I requested the wrong suitcase be picked up and the correct suitcase shipped. Each time I was told the suitcase would be picked up in 5 - 7 working days and then the correct suitcase would be shipped. This did not happen. The fourth and fifth time that I called I asked for a pickup and refund. The 4th time I was told to ship the suitcase via UPS for a refund and a $6.98 shipping refund would also be issued. I found out that the bag would cost over $45.00 to return. I then made a fifth call. This representative promised to email a prepaid shipping label. I have not received the label. I have been trying for almost two months to get what I ordered or a refund. I advise against ordering from Macys.com.

dont waste your money....i tried steaming a few dress shirts and pants, didnt come out as expected. An iron works MUCH BETTER.......the steam wasnt continuous as stated, the hose isnt long enough either. Trust me, invest in a great iron and ironing board rather than wasting your money on this.

Today I saw in your circular that you would have a fit event now thru 8/28/07. I was so excited, because it usually is a do-it-yourself, trial and error job. I drove over 20 miles from Union County to Carolina Place at a time when it was not convenient because of family illness. I went to the foundation department and asked about a professional fitter. I was told that "I can be that person". RED FLAG went up with me. The lady (the only one in the foundation department) took me to the dressing room, measured me, and then we went to the sales floor. She looked for the size (which I knew when she measured me was incorrect) however, she never found one.
She spent a maximum of three minutes total with me (fitting and looking)and I never saw her again. The dept. was not extremely busy, but she never came back and asked to help. She told me to just look for myself. I could have done that at any store. This was my first experience with Macys and probably my last. Maybe I was expecting too much, but I really don't think so.
