Terribly mismanaged with no help from store manager

The Ruston, La store#2418 is terrible.  My wife and I have literally begged for floor installation so that we can pay for it and cannot get the job done.  The website shows products in stock then they say the product chosen is not in stock.  The store manager will not return phone calls.  The entire process of having measurements done then getting a quote was so mismanaged and took so long that we begged for help and did not get it.  The home where the installation is to be done is vacant so scheduling should have been easy but it took weeks.  It has been over two months since this process was started and we still have not received a call from them.  We have had to change flooring choice twice due to the product not being in stock even though we chose from the Ruston Lowes website.  The store manager will not return phone calls.  Go to Home Depot.  They cannot possibly be as mismanaged as Lowes.

A TOTAL NIGHTMARE !! GOODBYE LOWES FOREVER

I purchased an expensive  Bosch dishwasher at Lowes and in no time the circuit board broke. Lowes told me it's not their problem to call Bosch they didn't build it. I called Bosch and they said it's covered under warranty but there is no one that could fix it around here but thomas appliance and he's had his phone of the hook since 1978 because we called all day and night and got a busy signal. 15 weeks later still no help from Lowes or Bosch. I had alot of dishes to handwash over the holidays thanks to Lowes service. Lowes is the worst place to buy an appliance unless it never breaks, because they sure don't have any service and then they try to sell you the rip off extended warranty on top of the regular one that don't even get honored.

Lowes.com directs you to stores that have the item in stock and will not let you buy from a store that does not have it.  This is nice, in principle.  But beware, if you are buying an item that is on sale, the item might still not be   Read full review...

LOWES does not honor warrenty and makes VERY disappointed and angry customers.

Lowes does NOT honor their warrenties. We bought a washer on sale and a four year warrenty. The washer was delivered broken from the start. A repairman came out and "fixed" it. It was loud and never seemed right. About 8 months later, the belt fell off and I opened the back to find that the repairman secured the motor with only one bolt. The rest was broken plastic parts hanging in the air. A second repair was requested but after a month, the third party repair told me (after repeated calls) that Lowes was going to replace the unit. After calling Lowes (because no one called me) I was told I was getting a check for the amount paid. Remember I said I bought it on sale? This is how they warrenty their merchandise. Sell it for less, deliver bad product, hire lame unresponsible repair houses and then try to rectify it by giving your money back instead of fixing or replacing. The biggest kick in the head - they "can't" refund my 4-year warrenty I paid for. You would be crazy to buy any large appliances from this uncaring corporation.

LOWES Extended protection that is a sham

LOWES Extended protection plan is a roll of the dice.  They will allow anyone (they have no idea who they are or of what quality they provide) to "complete" your repair which you will need.  My fridge has sat for a month without being serviced.  I've tried and tried to get them to do someting about it but they are okay with allowing a fraudulent tech to claim he fixed the item 2 weeks ago (he's never set foot in my house as of yet).  They will take your money and will say that the protection plan gives you piece of mind but what they won't do is step up to the task of defending you when their program goes wrong so be very aware.  When it is time for them to back the product they sold to you or the people they employ to repair it that requires more effort than they care to give then you are simply out of luck.

Worthless Extended Warranty

I bought an expensive Bosch dishwasher and an expensive extended warrranty.  A small part has fallen out of the dishwasher (holds the top spray arm in) and it can't be used.  Bosch won't help.  Lowe's won't help.  Extended warranty puts off saying they need to send out a technician.  I can see what is needed.  Just send it to me!!!  This has been going on for two weeks. If I don't get satisfaction tomorrow, I will order the part elsewhere.  SKIP EXTENDED WARRANTIES!

After shopping at the Lowes on 529/Hwy 6 in Houston Tx yesterday, I was surprised at the excellent customer service. Not only was I asked if I needed assistance, the employees would actually walk me to the dept and check the product to be sure it was right for my purposes. If they had a better suggestion, it was volunteered. Not like the big box home improvement competitor at Eldridge/1960-where employees would cluster in social gatherings and merely point to an aisle, which may or may not have been correct. And that was only if you could get their attention. Lowes may be a little further in driving distance, but I'll choose them anytime!

Lowe's internet site reflected "in stock" for some cabinet hardware. We ordered it and it was supposed to be delivered on 3/14.  On 3/30 we still haven't received it, called Lowe's and they said it was on back order.  They should have informed of this prior to 3/14.  I'll never order anything from Lowe's online again.

Whirlpool washer completely defective, Whirlpool doesn't stand behind producttheir products

I bought a whirlpool compact, front loading washing machine in January 2009 for $800.  It is in a condo and not used on a daily or even weekly basis.  In fall 2011, it is completely broken.  The heavy  cement block that is the counter weight for the drum, broke completely in half and off it's mooring.  The product was poorly made  from China.  the metal rods that should strengthen the block were inadequately placed in the cement, providing no strength.  The warranty is only one year, down from 5 years in 2006.  Why?  Because they sell poor quality products and want to make even more money off you from sales of an extended warranty (which you buy if you don't have faith in the product).  Isn't $800 enough for a compact that you should get a well made product?  Now I have to buy a new one less than 3 years later and they are not offering any rebate or compensation. Caution with Whirlpool.  Buyer beware.  Customer satisfaction or quality product is not their objective.

Lowes Recognized Poorly Built Troy-Bilt Trimmer & Fixes The Problem

Thanks to Lowes I was able to get rid of a Troy-Bilt Trimmer that required to have its valves adjusted at 10 hours and every 25 hours aftwards, for a Quality Husqvarna Trimmer.

I would advise against ordering any appliences from Lowes.
They use subcontractors for delivery and installaion and at least in my experience the quality of work is terrible.
I ordered gas stove and drier. Gas stove was damaged during the installation and was leaking gas. The drier was not operational. I ended up replacing the stove and returning the drier. The whole ordeal took about 2 weeks.
Customer support is minimal.

LOWES the most frustrating company ever - they just don't care

Placed a special order and recv'd a call that it had arrived. Drove over to pick it up. Waited 1/2hr for a warehouse person to come to the front desk, waited another 1/2hr until he bought the wrong order. I ordered 8" china blue tiles - 3 boxes. what was delivered and accepted by lowes 5 boxes of 12 * 12 beige tile from a different company. Now I call that gross inefficiency and mis-management of time, staff and knowledge. In these days of computerized tracking and ordering how could you allow that to happen, how do all the people involved in ordering & accepting inventory not realize something is wrong and FIX it. I think they just don't care. NEVER shopping at lowes again not even going to use the $10 gift certificate which in no way compensates me for my time and gas.

Lowe's is an indoor/outdoor home improvement store that has similarities to many other stores like Home Depot. They try to offer slightly varied products from their competitors, but in my opinion they are very similar to many other stores out there.   Read full review...

friendly & benign, but horribly inefficient

It's nice that you can in theory "buy" things over the web, and then pick them up in person. However, I ended up having to wait in line three times after the online order:
1) On the phone getting them to verify they really [thought they] had the products they sold me
2) In person while they searched for products
3) In a checkout, except that documenting an already paid online purchase is much more complicated than a regular purchase and took supervisory mentoring.

It turned out they couldn't fulfill all of the order after all, but made a reasonable partial substitute. Also, it can be convenient for the buyer that they have so many idle workers available (even if most do not seem to know how to operate their antiquated computer systems.)

Lowe's delivers with its website

As a professional contractor I went to Lowe's.com to find, purchase and delivery for plywood, drywall and material in under a day. After a bit of tooling around the site I was able to get what I need and found out I can have the material delivered site specific. The delivery came a little late in the morning but I received 85% of my material whereas the other 15% had to be shipped from another store outside of my area. Lowes.com had a useful page called Lowe's For Pros and had all these articles and forms I can use for my contracting business. I called Lowe's afterwards to follow up and they wanted to know if there was anything else I needed. I've had my experience with Home Depot and found Lowe's to be more personable and more willing to provide personal service.

Fastest Rebate Ever!!

I recently bought a product at Lowe's that came with a $10 rebate from the store. I couldn't believe it when I got a check from Lowe's only 2 WEEKS later!

Most of you know how slow rebates can be. Further, some rebate processors look for a lame reason to disqualify your rebate request. Once, I received a post card with my name and address on it stating that my rebate request was denied because I didn't submit my name and address (duh! it was mailed to me)!

It is refreshing to have a pleasant and super fast rebate response. In addition, my overall shopping experience was above average.

Lowe's sells low end quality Jacuzzi Junk

I know of 3 Jacuzzi tubs that were purchased from Lowes. AND all 3 leak. LOW End quality iS LOWES. Jacuzzi is supposed to be a good name except the brand they sell at Lowes. It is junk. Make sure you test your tub before installing.

Bad experiance with Lowes with Good customer support

I beleived Lowe's reputation in the market and realized how big mistake it is. I did online order for washing machine with home delivery. It's an special order and website says it takes 8-11 days to receive in local store. I called customer service twice before I called on 18th day of my order with Lowes. Customer service said I should be receiving a call from store manager as they could not find any progress on this order. I did receive the call from a local store to hear that they lost my order somehow and it may take another 10-15 days. What a waste of time and phone calls. I had to cancel the order. No washing machine !!! same old cloths!!! Thanks to Lowes.

Best of the home improvement stores

Lowe's is a better then average home improvement store
There is always plenty of parking and carts are always available except Saturday afternoon and I avoid the place then anyway because of the crowds.
The selection is excelent and everyone is friendly and don't run when they see you coming like they do in Home Depot and other stores.

Never got $900 delivery from Lowes.

Just tried Lowe's online shopping. Went to the website and selected the bulk items I needed. Than selected store delivery. BIG MISTAKE.

I got a confirming email with an order number. But the Lowes store is clueless as to what the order number means. Apparently, after you'd ordered on the Net, they send a little post-it to the store where it promptly gets lost.

Than after a week trying to set up delivery. I was told it'll be here on Sunday between 12 and 4. I called at 2 to confirm that it's on the truck and was told yes. I called at 5:45 and was told what delivery? We don't know any delivery.

Don't bother with Lowe's online. Come to think of it, I don't think I'll bother with Lowe's stores at all. I never had this happen to me at Home Depot. Home Depot stores are dirtier, but when they say they'll deliver, they deliver. And I don't waste a whole Sunday waiting.
