Ugh. Do not recommend this seller. I didn't read the reviews first. Silly me. I ordered an item on Jan 9. It still has not shipped as of Jan 17. As I am used to exceptional service provided by other online retailers, this is new to me, and I am not pleased about it. Do yourself a favor and patronize other more professionally run sellers.

I haven't received my order yet and was very unhappy that when I called they said an email was sent and I didn't get a notice that it was back ordered! For that I am not sure I'd order from you again. I still have not received the order which has held up my remodel and was told it won't be sent out until 12/15!

I just tried to order a piece of furniture at Home Decorators Collection. They calculate tax based on the order total PLUS shipping & handling charges. Anyone who knows how any merchandise is taxed is that tax is for tangible goods only. This is in California.
So the furniture I was interested in purchasing is $249. Their handling fee is $40 for that item. Instead of tax being calculated at 8.25% of $249, they are calculating 8.25% of ($249 + $40 = $289). Instead of paying a total of $309.54 (($249 + 8.25% tax) + $40), they ask you to pay $312.84 (($249 + $40) + 8.25%). It's only $3 difference, but I am NOT paying a cent over what is required. Can you imagine this company ripping everyone off like this? The amount adds up in their huge favor, illegally I might add. $3 from me, $5 from you, $2 from John Doe, $10 from your neighbor, etc. This is definitely ILLEGAL. I called them up, and they said I need to address this with their customer service department. I thought I called the customer service number that was on their website. I got a runaround. |

I ordered a rug from Home Decorator's Collection on September 27th. After I placed the order I was told that the rug was on back order until October 3rd. Fine. Then I was told it wouldn't ship until October 17th. Not so fine...I'm tired of my bare floors. Then I was told it would ship on October 26th. Finally, I'm told today that it won't ship until November 1st. Also, I've been told that the "free" pad for the rug won't come until mid-November. Really? I've had trouble with this store before. They advertise merchandise they don't have, then string you along. I do NOT recommend shopping at Home Decorators Collection!

I ordered 4 Industrial Park Stools on 8/3/11 and was immediately charged for them on my Amex even though they were backordered until September. Today, on 8/18/11, I went to check on the order status only to see the stools were not on the website anymore. I called customer service to find out they had been discontinued and the company "hadn't gotten around to calling people to let them know."
The customer service agent then processed the cancellation and told me the refund, for an order that had yet to be fulfilled, would take 5-7 business days. So now, not only am I not getting the stools I spent weeks looking for, I can't order any others because they won't give me my refund in a timely manner. |

I've used them in many instances to quickly find a piece I needed. In this most recent case I needed a way to raise the TV in my exercise room so I could see it above the handlebars of my treadmill. I purchased two of the TV swivel drawers to do the trick. I have never had a bad experience with Home Decorators.

The ordering and delivery process was fine. However, the product looked absolutely nothing like the online pictures. As a result, we returned the rug at considerable personal expense. Given the cost of returning furniture or rugs, will be very hesitant to order from them again since the quality/color/etc of the online catalog can't be trusted.

The product ordered was damaged in shipment and was undeliverable. I was notified by phone and was told the product was on back order until October, at that time, I requested that the charge be credited to my account until delivery was made. However this was not done and I received and E-mail stating that charges would not be made until delivery and that because of the delay, there would be no shipping charges. My Visa account has not been to date credited for the charges.

My furniture arrived so quickly that I was amazed. The three door cabinet had a damaged bottom piece. I called customer service and i will be getting anew piece. it is not coming until November so I was somewhat disappointed. The representative who i spoke with was cortious,efficient and friendly. The furnitue looks great and is good quality The instructions were pretty easy to follow. Except for the damaged piece my experience was good. i would buy furniture again and would recommend it to others.

I've had it. Third time I've received used, defective products, only this time I didn't get all my money back. Home Decorators (HD) took back all of a $30 coupon instead of applying any of it to my other items (which I wouldn't have bought otherwise) and giving me my full refund. Bank of America at first agreed and credited me the $30, then reversed and said they can't force a company to give a coupon. Bad service, bad experience...again. HD sent defective merchandise, and I took a loss. They argued over $30 and lost a long-term, high-volume customer. Big mistake. I will never buy from them again.
