Ordered an item listed as "in stock". Two weeks later, item still had not shipped. Found that it was NOT in stock and they didn't know when it would be! My credit card was charged in full at time of purchase. Cancelled order and asked for a refund. Was told it would take 2 weeks. 2 weeks later, no refund had been issued. Called again, asked for a supervisor; finally got a refund.

I ordered an Asus Transformer Prime TF201 Keyboard Dock (ASTF201DOCK-CG). There is no power adapter included. I could have bought this anywhere for the same price or cheaper, but I bought from Abes of Maine because the power adapter was supposed to be included. The ridiculous return policy makes it counterproductive to return the product.

I purchased a set of four ceramic cappuccino cups.This was not my first purchase with Abe's of Maine, but it was the first positive experience I've had with them. The price was good, no tax and free shipping. The merchandise was packed well and arrived intact in just a few days. Based solely on this experience, I would consider buying from them again.

Based on my experience, I suspect most of the positive reviews of Abe's of Maine are fake. My experience:
1. Rude salesman calling to upsell me on my shipping, insisting they were offering a bargain deal on white glove shipping, and that upgrading was the only way I could ensure my order would arrive on time and undamaged. Of course, it is their responsibility to get you your order intact regardless of shipping type chosen, and his attempt to scare me into upgrading was not appreciated. 2. I was promised that my order would arrive inside the 4 hour window given, but after taking time off work to wait for my order, it arrived after 8 O'Clock at night anyway, over 3 hours late. 3. The delivery men dropped my new oven 3 times getting it in the house and uncrated and scraped up my doorframes in the process. 4. I have attempted to contact Abe's to resolve the situation, but they place me on hold when I call and do not answer emails. |

Shady business at best. Ordered a Panasonic 60" plasma on 3/18/12. Ordered successfully with free shipping. Few days later order was cancelled as they were unable to "call" me. Amazon doesn't call me. Called them and asked if i could uncancel and proceed with order. Transferred to Roy: wanted to know if i wanted HDMI cables, 3D cables, secure shipping, heavy-duty mount, extended warranty etc. etc. Said No 10 times, finally gave in for $89 with the "special shipping" and so called heavy duty mount because deal was that good.10 Days later order is cancelled again because the 2011 Panasonic 60" plasma is no longer available....
Order is supposedly cancelled and i'm noticing that they were able to debit my credit card immediately, but crediting the card back is taking days. Now on day 5 and nothing. Ordered from Amazon and debit was posted immediately. |

Stay away from this seller. On march 14, 2012 I ordered a camcorder battery over the internet, which was in stock. I paid extra for the 3-5 day shipping, since I needed the battery for a wedding on the weekend of March 24, 2012. Well, here it is March 23rd and I've received nothing. I've called them twice and put on hold 30 minutes each time and nobody came back on. I've sent 2 emails and receiving no answers. They've charged my credit card before they shipped anything, which is against the FTC rules. The item has to ship with the 3-5 day limit, and if there is a delay in shipping, according to law, they have to notify you by mail, email, or phone and have to give you the opportunity to cancel the order. None of this has happened. Never do business with these people.
UPDATE: Abe's finally got in touch with me yesterday. They apologized about the battery not being in stock and they are sending me a comparable battery free of charge and crediting my credit card. I will have to raise their rating a few notches, since the problem was taken care of. |

Stay away...Places like this should be sued and out of business. Ordered a TV from this place online with advertised free shipping and immediately got 4 phone calls in a matter of 5 minutes with messages to call back. Called back and some guy was trying to upsell paid shipping saying free shipping would be bad and most likely damage the tv and they can't take it back then. Also was trying to sell extended warranted. Seemed shady so tried to cancel it. Had problems doing that. Got lucky b/c we have good credit card fraud protection services but STAY THE F AWAY!

We had a very good experience with this store. The item was as advertised, the price was great, the shipping was above and beyond what we expected this holiday time of year, and the customer service was very personalized which you don't find too much of anymore. After reading all of the negative reviews, the writers of these must have had other issues. I just take these with a grain of salt as the proof is in the pudding. We will deal with this store again.

Not at all helpful. Were very rude and disrespectful to my 62 year old retired school teacher mother who needed to make a return. This upset her, and I will never buy from them again. When someone calls with a problem, berating them for ordering the wrong item is not the way to keep repeat business. I should have read the reviews before purchasing from them. Apparentally they do this a lot.

I placed an order on Oct 26th for a GE Slide in electric range that was listed as "Available" on their web site. Because this was a large appliance, I called to place the order rather than submitting on the web site. It was suggested to me that because of the size of the appliance that I would be better to purchase the $99 shipping rather than the free shipping to ensure that the item arrived in good condition. I was also told that the item should arrive sometime around the 9th of Nov. the week it was due to arrive I was told that there was some delay, and it wouldn't arrive until the 3rd week of Nov. After hearing nothing I called Nov 16th and was told that I should be hearing from the shipping company the next day to schedule delivery. I called again the next day and was told I should hear from them in the next few days. Ultimately I did not receive the stove until Dec 2nd.
Updated Dec 7th: After writting this review I was contacted by Abes of Maine and they refunded the $99 shipping |

"I purchased a Lenovo laptop from Abe's on July 25, 2011. It was defective right out of the box. Since then, I've been getting a runaround with Abe's referring me to Lenovo and vice versa. Abe's has a no return policy which makes sense if you don't like your computer and want to exchange it. It does not make sense when they shipped a defective computer(needs a new CPU). Abe's has not made this right. I still do not have a computer. Beware of buying from this company since you are not covered if their product is defective."

Terrible Customer Service - sold me a Delonghi PACWE 125 that did not work from day one. Tried to get them to replace the unit. Told me that the cost of shipping was too high to do so. Then told me to get Delonghi to take care of the matter, tried this and Delonghi wanted me to pay to ship unit in for repairs (shipping cost for me approx $100.00) ??????

Well less than 24 hours of posting a negative review, I was contacted by a manager who apologized and eliminated the $80 charge for the private shipping. The amount has not be removed from my card yet, but I do appreciate the quick response from the company. The grill has not arrived, so I will update the review once it arrives. Hope it's not damaged!
It's true that a sales person calls and offers and basically forces more services with the threat of damage to your current purchase. I bought a weber grill, and the "free shipping" quickly turned in to another $80 bucks, with the sales person saying "it's such a heavy grill, it's better and "safer" to ship it privately". When asked if it would get here any sooner, I was told "no, it will take at least TWO WEEKS to ship to Ohio". Seriously? Aren't you 12 hours away? I read other reviews that had the same "sales" exerience. If I had it to do again, I would NOT buy from someone with false advertising (free shipping) on their web page, and who later calls up with threats of damage materials if you don't purchase private shipping. |

WOW...ABES HAS BEEN BY FAR THE WORST COMPANY I'VE EVER DEALT WITH. I ordered a treadmill - ordering was a breeze. Then 3 days later came the upsell call and the threats of needing to upgrade on shipping or have my product arive damaged. My account manager was Mike, was flat out rude. Here it is 10 days after my order and I'm fighting them on cancelling my order and refunding my money. I wish I would've never ordered from Abes. Do yourself a favor and don't make the same mistake I did.

I was overcharged for my order, but then,suprizingly the extra amount was refunded without me having to call. I recieved my order and everything was fine, but I still don't think I'd order from them again. The upsell calls just left a bad taste in my mouth, and overall I don't trust them as a business.
