Puritan's Pride®

Beware of Puritan pride, I ordered a product that was showing in stock and a week and a half later I recieved an email saying they were sorry but the product I ordered was not in stock.  I needed those vitamins and was waiting to get them since I ran out.  I could have ordered from somewhere else!  IF its not in stock than take it off your site and dont let people order it.  THey told me that they thought it would come into stock so thats why they took my order.  Later they found out it was not coming to be in stock so they cancelled my order--- but they left me hanging without notice and without my vitamins.

I've been ordering from Puritan's Pride now for about three years and I highly recommend them. The prices are great and their quality is among the best out there. They have fast shipping and I never had a order problem. I love the ease of their website, it's laid out very well and not confusing. Their customer service is top notch. Look online for coupon codes. After reviewing lab reports on big box store's quality, I will never buy my vitamins and supplements there.

I was told to deliver some vitamins to Australia takes about 2-3 weeks, once you ordered it from Puritan online they said 4-6 weeks and charged for $32.80. They gave me DHL tracking numbers, it said still in German, now already 4 weeks and they said again was held in custom in Australia, this is NONSENCE, the item is not in Australia yet dude. Never ever using this online again. Be aware for those are going to use this online marketing to purchase some vitamins product

Puritan's Pride is the only way to go when it comes to purchasing your nutritional supplements.  You get great service, excellent value and prompt delivery; not to mention clean, clearly-labled and well-packaged products.  I wouldn't shop any place else!

I was sent and e-mail that they refunded Pay Pal but there was no explaination of WHY. I took a great deal of time deciding on the correct product for the situation that I tried to purchase and then wasted time waiting for it before I suddenly got a refund...again with NO EXPLAINATION...when I could have just gone to a local vitamin store and purchased something similar (which is what I ended up having to do)in the first place. I don't know if the item is discontinued and would not take a chance trying to purchase it again. I've had problems with products not arriving in good condition in the past...jars of cream that leaked etc. Not sure I will continue to use this merchant.

I just want everybody to be aware of their soon-to-expire products. I have ordered twice from them and many items have expiration date within 4 months from my purchase date. When I ordered online, I could not see when the products expire. Maybe when they put stuff on sale, it means the products will expire soon.
Shipping from their location (New York State) to the west coast (ARizona) takes at least 10 days.
Also, try to look around for their advertisement for freeshipping and 10% off and click through the ads. I did not know about this "trick" . I made my order of more than $350 and got no discount at all, then I used an old desktop to check my order status that day and found out that my old browswer got the coupon. I called their customer service and was told that it depended on the search engine and they could not apply the discount for my order made that same day.
I can't really tell about the quality but they don't taste good.

I have been Puritan's customer for 10 yrs. The quality of their vitamins is very good, selection of the products is excellent, the shipments are on-time and the order process is a breeze.
However, the prices and sales used to be much better. Yesterday I ran 2 parallel orders: one on Puritans.com and another on Swansonvitamins.com for the same supplements (their own brands). Here's the result:
With the "Buy 1 get 1 free" Puritan's sale and a $15 off coupon Puritan's order still was $20 more than Swanson's order (no sale and a $10 off coupon). AND with Swanson's order I got higher quantity per supplement.
Guess which order I finalized :)

We only use this brand of vitamins, and I recently just started on the ultra woman daily multi-vitamin. They have been making a difference, from what I can feel. The deals are amazing, the shipping is always fast and this company is very reliable.

Puritan's Pride  products consistently pass the quality tests at the independent Consumer's Lab test site. This is the only non-profit supplement testing site that I know of. While shipment is occasionally slow, it has improved in the past few years. My shipments have been accurately shipped with no problems.

I place an order on March 13, 2009 and received an order confirmation email. On March 26, I sent a message inquiring if my order had been shipped since I had not received it yet.  Keri in customer service said the order was never processed due to a problem with my payment.  I never received a message informing me of any problem.  If I had not contacted them I would be waiting longer for nothing.  Bad company practice not to try and contact a customer with a problem.  I have since ordered from another company.  Puritans has lost my business.

Puritan's Pride gives different prices depending on how many of each item you buy. The best deal by far is the buy 2 get 3 free deal. You will be hard pressed to find a cheaper price. When I buy from Puritan's Pride I usually make big orders and receive my order in about a week. This last order was 5 each of about 8 different items. Doing some quick math I figured that I saved roughly $500 or 70% by buying from Puritan's Pride as opposed to GNC or Vitamin World.

Until this year, I had been a loyal customer of Puritan's Pride.

However, this company has begun featuring products at very low prices without having any intention of selling them at those prices.  Their purpose?  When you order these outstanding values, you generally order other products along with them without being as selective as to whether the prices are right.  Puritan's Pride ships you the products that have good profit margins and notifies you the rest are on back-order.  And they stay on back-order forever even though they are in stock and continue to be advertized and sold at higher prices.

As proof, I ordered Product #017895, Glucosamine, 2 for $17.94 on October 24, 2008.  On October 28, I was notified that the product was on back-order.  The last time I was told that the product was still on back-order was December 6.  This same day, I saw that Product #017895 continued being advertized and ordered it again, now at a sale price of 2 for $29.99.  It was delivered a few days later on December 11.

Since the practice of advertizing products with no intention of shipping them at the advertized priced is fraud, I will be contacting the appropriate agencies.
