Misleading Advertising and Poor Customer Service

I recently became a Loft card holder. One of the benefits is a 10% discount by using the card on the first Tuesday of the month either on-line or at a store. I attempted to make a purchase on the first Tuesday of this November - online.

Very Poor

Poor customer service, online, at the corporate level and at the Firewheel store in Garland, Texas. I wrote emails to their Customer Services and other than letting me know they received, I never got either and explanation or apology.

I like Ann Taylor Loft because it is one of the only stores that carries petite clothing. For this reason, I started shopping at their local stores. But, the closest Loft location to me closed, so that caused me to start visiting their

I've been a fan of the Ann Taylor Loft retail stores for many years and was thrilled when they started an online site a couple years ago. DEMOGRAPHICS (copied from quantcast.com): Anntaylorloft.com is a top 5,000 site that reaches over 700K U.S.

I placed my order for a pair of pants and a top on 12/13 to be given as gifts. By 12/25, I still did not receive the items. Then, I received an apologic email stating that the order will be free due to the delayed shipping. On 1/2, I checked my email

Beware returns - don't remove security tag or else
by bendite, November 27, 2007

The clothes are nice... but hope you don't want to make a return.
They will not accept worn/washed material regardless of the reason, especially if you followed the instructions on the security tag to "remove before washing or wearing". I had a pair of pants that stretched out 1+ sizes within a couple of hours and they would not take them back. I've taken similar items back to Macy's, Talbot's, etc with no problems. So, they've lost me as a customer - it's just not worth it. |

I was first introduced to Ann Taylor Loft while visiting my sister in Denver. I liked that their stores carried clothes that were fashion forward while still being classic. I have a hard time finding things to wear to work, and Ann Taylor

I'm petite and my occupation requires that I wear professional dress clothing quite often. Not the best option for shopping in the stores, because I find that petite sections are usually minimally stocked in professional attire. And that is if I can even

Clothes OK; Business Practices Unacceptable
by fiona26, March 28, 2006

I won't go into the numerous problems I had with the website; suffice to say that I was using a gift card -- quite sufficient to cover the cost of my order -- and I was still, for some inscrutable reason, required to give them my credit card number. I thought this was extremely inappropriate. They have no idea who the gift card belongs to, so there is no "verification" that can be accomplished (contrary to what I was told when I called them).
In this age of credit card fraud and identity theft, I, for one, find it appalling that retailers are allowed to conduct business in this manner. I won't be shopping AnnTaylorLoft.com again. |
