I ordered and received a set last year with a "buy this set, get a recliner free" promo. The set fell apart within a year and they offered to exchange it. However, they said I also had to return the recliner, thus losing out on the promo offer because their furniture fell apart on me. I couldn't be more disappointed in the store manager (who has yet to contact me) - I keep going through my salesperson. Even he said the recliner should be noted a $.01 on the receipt but instead, they're charging me $317 for it. Needless to say, I'm writing corporate a note and asking them to pick up my "free" recliner. I was a big fan but now I feel they have shady practices!!!

I have ordered thru many different companies' websites in the past and even handle customers placing catalog orders myself on a daily basis and I have to say, JC Penney web sales provides some of the WORST customer service I have ever seen. If you are able to walk into the store and purchase something, their merchandise is good. If you don't have any sort of deadline or don't care if you get you r order in a week, or a month, (or possibly more), you can get good product through their site, BUT if you have a deadline or want to make any sort of change after placing your order, don't expect it to get done. When they say you will have something in a certain number of business days, they mean from the date it ships and make no promise as to when that will happen.

Online order for twin sheet which jcp did not carry in store, carried all other sizes if brand. Order showed being shipped UPS on May 22. I called for a tracking number and was informed they didn't have one. UPS always issues tracking number when picking up. ?? I was told it would take 4-7 days to received. Called on May 31 (9 days later) and was told it would be delivered on June 1....we will see. Again I ask for UPS tracking number and the agent just hung up on me. I have had problems with jcp before their reorganizing and this just adds to the disgust with them. I will not guide my friends to jcp nor will I have future transactions with them. POOR SHIPPING, POOR COMMUNICATION, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.....JUST POOR ! What a shame.

The ring I ordered is verry nice however the date it was saposta be delivered was 2 weeks after I ordered it I received it a few days shi of a month after the customer service was good but i wish that if Thay was going to be that late the least Thay could do is send me a email I will never shop with them again my wife's mothers day was almost a month late

jcp's ordering online is terrible if you want to track order. I have complained and I just get blown off. Just ordered Apr. 3rd, its now the 10th and have no idea what the status or where my order is. Since jcp changed the warehouse location couple years ago shipping and tracking is bad. I used to order a lot more with jcp but have changed to other stores where I can track orders. I want to know when my orders are coming in so they dont sit out in weathers bad. Funny thing is my order was split in two parts, the part that said it would not be shipped until Apr. 11 I received a couple days after I ordered.

WHAT A JOKE! I ordered a piece that was back ordered or so they called and told me but then I get a call to set up delivery. So from the start I should never expected anything more than a mess. So on delivery day I get my ottoman I ordered to find it the wrong color. I call and find out that the one I wanted was discontinued and was never told this.....EVER. Instead they thought they would send the one I received and I guess I would not notice. So now you have to set up a pick up time which is over 2 weeks away which mean I cannot get a refund until they take it and wait 48 to 72 hours.......This is one of those companies you really believe is a good company to order from until you actually do to find it is as horrible as they come with their online purchases! My advice......STAY AWAY FROM JCP ONLINE!!!!

I bought an entire bedroom set, which was documented to be completely in stock. After three weeks of waiting, checked the status and discovered order was cancelled and I WAS NEVER CONTACTED! Corporate managers offered another bedroom at a discount and more waiting for delivery. Of course the price for this set was much more than the one I was promised (which had a higher original retail price) Stephanie the corp. manger, didn't even deny that this was bait and switch in our phone conversation. Bottom line- I didn't get my bedroom set for Christmas and as a result our family went through a lot of stress. We missed many other opportunities to buy another set from another store during the wasted three weeks. We even made additonal purchases based on the savings from the original set, so there was no more money in the budget to spend on another bedroom set. GO ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR FURNITURE if you want to save yourself the headache!

The customer service was great! Everyone seemed like they loved their job. I had to make several returns though...This was because of a size change...Although this took a while because of different reciepts with different purchases, the associate was very nice and professional, and very informative. She (jammela) asked me to take a survey, which I did to get the 15% coupon, man this store is great! Will come again!

Don't place an online furniture order from JCPenney unless you're 100% sure you want it. They recently (Sept 2011?) changed their 7-day furniture return policy to "ALL SALES FINAL". Check Kohls, Overstock, Target, even Walmart, as they have much of the same stuff, often for much less than JCP and you can return it if it doesn't work.

Most other stores - Macy's, Kohls will honor returns at a local store even if the purchase was made online. But not JC. I could not believe how bad the customer service was. The sales lady was very nice, naturally, but beyond taking my money, they were miserable to deal with. I received a call at 10am stating they'd be delivering my furniture in 30 min, so I left work and was home in 30 minutes, after waiting 20 minutes when nobody showed up, I called the delivery man repeatedly with no answer, so I returned to work. Then at 10:50, after returning to work, I received another call telling me he'd be there in 30 minutes. I told him I waited for him and he could have at least called me to let me know he was going to be late and I would need the delivery for the next day as I already took time out of my work day to meet with him. I then received a phone call from an extremely rude lady that got really ghetto on me and blamed me for declining deliver!

JC Penney delivery a defective recliner to us and will not pick it up and refund our money. With the foot rest extended it wobbles to the point you think you are going to flip out of it. We've been waiting for over a month for their delivery people to call us back to schedule a pickup.
We've been calling the Customer No Service number regularly, but they simply add a note that we called. They say the delivery group is backed up and we have to wait for a call back. |

I ordered online and kept checking the UPS tracking. I was excited when I checked at work one day and saw that UPS had delivered the package and left it on my front porch. Unfortunately I got home and there was no package. My husband, who works from home, said "No, UPS didn't come today". So, I called UPS and they told me to call JCP. I called JCP and told the customer service rep what happened. She asked for my order number and said,"ok, let me credit back your card...do you just want me to place the order again?"
I was very surprised because I had been expecting the typical hassle that I've experienced with customer service issues at other companies in the past. This was definitely the least stressful and most pleasant customer service experience I have ever had. |

I ordered christmas/birthday gifts online during thanksgiving weekend 2009. I saw them in the store but when I looked online the prices were much cheaper plus I got to use the extra 20% off coupon. One of my items arrived Dec 7th. I thought that was a little long since it said 4-7 days. I was even more upset to find they charged me the original price of the item, not the sale price or the 20% off. I emailed them and called and they said it would take 3-7 days for my account to be credited since their website had a few errors. Then I was sent an email Dec 15th saying my last item is backordered until Dec 22nd. I was shocked when the item arrived Dec 16th. Why would they take weeks to notify me that one of my items may be backordered? Its the holidays. I have never had this problem before. To make matters worse I did not even need the last item because it arrived too late. My account still has not been credited.
