I bought a Solica professional flat iron from Folica.com. I received a 2 year warranty for the item, which I thought was unusual, but nice. What I didn't realize was that the product breaks down in 2 years and one month. It just stopped working exactly one month after the warranty expired. I have treated the iron well, used it regularly, but not every day. Having spent almost $100.00 on the product, I didn't expect it to last only 2 years. I have $20.00 hairdryers that last longer. I talked to customer service and they just said 'tough luck'. I do not recommend Folica.com because now I'm not even sure that the product they sent me was new; it might have been grey goods (a refurbished item). Folica.com is not a company that can be trusted and I do not recommend them.

If you are not from the US, don't buy their product from Folica.
I bought my sedu revvolution 4000i hairdryer and I can't use it in Britain. The voltage is unsuitable to the country and you can't use any other adopter too. I lost total of £50 for shipping to Britain and refund to them. They don't pay for the delivery cost. I though I would save money buying the hairdryer from FOlica but I end up paying more. I just bought one in Space NK which cost £150. Put in simply, I actually spend the hairdyer for £200. I wish they mentioned on the website. Never buy from them again. |

Im am very disappointed of folica.com for their poor shipping service. I have been waiting for more than 10 days (I live in a big canadian city so no reason for that) my shipment had problems with fedex delivering it and I had to pay 25$ for custom fees as the website dont pay for them. So even with the special for the hairdyer I had to pay around 50$ more for shipment and customs. Ridiculous and not worth it at all. When I complain with the customer service, they told me that it was not their problem. All I know is that I will not order on this website ever again.

I ordered a pink Sedu Revolution from them back in September (it is now November) and I got the standard free shipping. My first order was held b/c there was an error with my billing address. However, that was my banks fault. I cancelled that one and placed it again and it came within a few days. The order promised a gift with purchase and I thought it was the travel heat pouch. What prompted me to write this review is that I came home (to another state) for the holidays and found that there was an additional gift with purchase which was W magazine. I got pretty excited about that. Although, they did send it to the wrong address I easily had that changed. One more thing I should mention is that they had a recycle program where I was able to get a $40 off coupon for my order by sending in my old flat iron (which was really cheap and cost less than $20)

I went to purchase a hair dryer, hair brush and tease comb from Folica and they wouldn't accept my platnium American Express credit card. They wanted verification of my identity so I emailed them a scanned copy of my license. They wouldn't accept it. My license is from Florida and I now live in California, I offered verification that I worked at a large studio in Burbank, they wouldn't accept that either. I offered to have them call American Express so they could verify for themselves that I was the card holder and that my Burbank address was on file with American Express but they wouldn't do that either. I wasted time, had an awful customer experience and I encourage everyone else to shop elsewhere. They made me feel like a criminal - it was a terrible experience.

I've never been so impressed by an online site! The deals they have are amazing - I ended up ordering an iron I'd bought previously at $139 on sale at Folica for $79. On top of that, they had some sort of a deal going that alotted 25% discounts to anyone buying two products. I ended up adding a $15 lotion to my cart just to see how the math worked out, and the total came out to $72 including both items. PLUS they threw in a free crimper iron. Not something I use but who can say no to a free ceramic iron! It came literally one day after ordering it. Everything was in perfect condition. I'll definitely be purchasing my next big hair product from this site.

Noticed our bank account charged an unauthorized $120 by folica.com.
When we contacted customer service we were told that it didn't matter that the person who ordered listed an adress that didn't match our credit card billing address because Folica's system is not automated and does not check that billing and credit card info matches. So, someone in California got a lovely shipment of products at our expense. The customer service rep was kind enough to share that info with us. |

I live in Canada and I ordered a Caruso Hairsetter and Emjoie hair remover from Folica. I had already paid for all the shipping fees while checking out, and yet Folica didn't tell me that I would be charged an extra 25 dollars for duties once the package arrives at my door. I have shopped numerous times on US websites before, and never have any vendors allowed the customers to get charged pointless customs fees. Usually what they would do is declare the items as "gifts", so no duties would be charged. But Folica does NOT care!! And when I contacted customer service, the lady was very rude about it. I would never purchase from this website ever again, because it's just asking for headaches!

I purchased a Croc flat iron from Folica because they had a decent price. I have had nothing but a great expeience with them. 8 months after puchase my Croc died- I was afraid I would be without it for 2 weeks or claim that somehow I caused the failure
I had a replacement within 2 weeks- they have been very easy to work with. |

I regret doing business with them. I bought two straightners last week. Today I find out that they are cheaper and included accesories. I called to see if they can ship these accesories to me since I just barely bought the items a few days ago for a higher price, her response: you have to return them and buy the item with the accesories. What!! It is the same thing! Why not just ship the accesories?? Every other company does this or at LEAST offers a partial refund....specially during the holidays!
I wish I would have made my order with someone else that takes care of their customers. They just want you return the item that way you have to pay for shipping and hopefully decided against. If I return what I bought from them to get the other item it is not going to be cheaper for them. It will just make me spend money for shipping! |

Wretched, rude, unsympathetic customer service. I've had a Solia flat iron for 5 months and have only used it 10 or 12 times. I found it snagged my hair and wasn't that great an iron, but whatever--live and learn. However, then it started making popping/crackling sounds when I used it, which obviously is a danger sign.
Folica wouldn't allow me to return it. They were willing to let me exchange it, but wanted to charge me $10. Um...what? You send me a defective, dangerous product, and you want to charge *me* 10 dollars to send me another one of the same crappy product--which, for all I know, could have the same dangerous flaw? IMO, they should pay me, since I am the one who has to print/fill out the forms, pack it up, go to the post office, etc. Utterly pointless. My suggestion: stay far away from Solia and Folica. |

They had what I wanted at a competitive price, which is good, but their processing and shipping was super-slow. I had to pay for shipping, no codes to be had, and it was still at a snail's pace. I have used other suppliers and used free shipping and rec'd my products in less time. It took them four days simply to fill an order with two common inventory items, definately a problem.

I was overcharged $79.99 (the value of my "free gift"). I sent an email that I was overcharged and phoned Folica when I had not received a response within five hours of my initial contact. The Folica rep. confirmed I had been overcharged and said I would see a credit to my account in nine days. I asked if I would have email conformation and she said "no". I then received an email about my "return" saying my account would be credited in up to 30 days. I did receive my products promptly and in good condition and my card was actually credited within days for the mistake, but I would be reluctant to shop with this company again due to the lack of customer service and my concerns about returning if something goes wrong.
