Fingerhut: High prices, outrageous shipping
by kitchen_king00, November 23, 2012

I ordered an immersion blender from Fingerhut and, after, decided to research the product at other sites. On Amazon.com the blender sells for $39.97 with no shipping charge. On Fingerhut the same item cost $54.99 with approximately $13.00 shipping for a total of $67.99, a whopping $30.00 difference. Shop Fingerhut at your own risk!!!!

I refuse to do business with companies that use foreign cheap poor speaking english representatives
by alaska1953, October 31, 2012

I tried to place an order on 31 Oct. It took me 15 minutes for the person to get my address right. She could not spell words much less say them correct. I finally after 20 minutes got the order placed and then found out shippng is not for the entire order combined it's for each individual piece. Then I realied why i had so much trouble placig the order and the communication problem i was talking to someone in the Phillipines. needless to say I was totally fricking mad off that i had to keep repeating myself that i did not place the $100 order. I fefuse to place orders with any company that uses cheap foreign not very good english speaking reps. Fingerhut you lost my business because you use foreigners instead of using American reps.

yes Fingerhut charges more for items, and by the time you are done with shipping cost ect, its up there in price. but and its a big BUT , there are times you need something and dont have the money or the time to shop or both. I have dealt with fingerhut for a longtime, and find their products are better than say Country Door, now thats a catalog with cheaply made products. So I give Fingerhut a thumbs UP! i have ordered some unique items and was pleased and I have ordered some very practical items such as a rotatiller , platform bedframe, clothing stand(ordred three of those at different times, 2 for friends) camping equipment. also i had a problem where the manufacturer sent a queen size platform bedframe instead of the California king size, no problem called fingerhut customerservice, they paid for shipping wrong size one back and corrected my statement without difficulty.

HORRIBLE customer service...shipping is ridicolous.......no one can help...the people in customer service are rude...not one item i ordered was of any qualityor worth the money or the shiping. I had to return items on my own and pay for the shipping to me and back to them, horrible company!
Brian is the only manager that has any people skills and knows how to talk to a customer, I want to thank Brian. You should hold training sessions for your staff. |

I ordered a comforter set for my bedroom I recieved it very speedy, but I was very unhappy at the quality of the material made for the $130 I spent on it. The material was falling apart and the stuffing was coming out it was very, very cheaply made. I will not be ordering anything else from Fingerhut and will not recommend this company to anyone else.

They fill a niche for people with bad credit.

Wow. I guess I shouldn't surprised by all of the bad reviews. Ninety percent of them are because of items being overpriced. Let's be real people. Fingerhut exists to fulfill the needs of people with spotty or bad credit. It's that simple. They aren't Amazon or Overstock.com. They jack their prices up because they take on a lot of financial risk to approve credit for people who may or may not be responsible enough to have it. I should know. I'm one of them. That's my fault, not theirs. Yes, you can find the same products about 40% cheaper elsewhere but if you are struggling to get credit somewhere else, at least you have Fingerhut to go to in a pinch. Customer service has always been fine with me and I have always received my products on time. I have even returned items with absolutely no problem. Take a look in the mirror before you decide Fingerhut deserves a bad rating.

My overall experience has been horrible.

I'm a new cust. Jsut rcvd my order (MasterCraft Rotary Tool) today. Product is used, worn and damaged. Cust Srvc says that i am responsible for the return shipping. I was also responsible for the shipping charges to get the product here. Wow! This is my first order with Fingerhut and it will definitely be the last. I'll stick to physically going to stores with a better reputation.
I'm not going to return the product because I can't see investing any more money in this product. Instead, i'm going to try to sell it to get some of my money back, never do business with Fingerhut again, and shop with reputable companies that will accept their responsibility to provide quality product and cover the expense for returning BS product when they are at fault. My experience with Fingerhut as a new customer placing his first order has been horrible and unacceptable. Their web site sucks and isn't very well organized. It also has too much BS script running and isn't easily navigable. This review site should have an option to attach photos, so i can show consumers the actual garbage, excuse me, product that i received from Fingerhut. Thank you. |

Happy Fingerhut Shopper

I have been shopping with fingerhut for several years now and have never had a problem. Their shipping is fast and efficient and though their prices might be a few dollars higher then elsewhere I save gas and time by shopping on line so I don't care. Any issues have been addressed quickly and replacements have always been sent out immediately. Their service agents have always been friendly and helpful. For someone who is trying to build their this is a great alternative to credit cards that charge the equal amount of your credit limit every year in fees. My credit is now just fine but I still continue to shop with Fingerhut several times a year. I suspect those people who complain about Fingerhut either don't pay their bills on time or just like to complain.

Two words-AVOID FINGERHUT- I ordered a cordless telephone set and a smokeless ashtray. They sent me 2 orders. I kept 1 telephone set and returned the 2 smokeless ashtrays (they were "junk") and 1 telephone set, this was in July 2008. Surprise, they said they received 1 smokeless ashtray but not the telephones. I sent them a copy of my post office receipt, they said it wasn't enough. Unfortunately I did not insure it. I sent them an affidavit with the receipt and sent it certified (Iam learning the tactics now) it took them over 2 weeks to sign for it and they denied the affidavit. Now Iam stuck paying for something that I do not have. I have ordered various items from Fingerhut since the 1980's but I can assure you that I will Never order another thing from them again.

My overall satisfaction will speak for itself in the ratings. I am not a Fingerhut fan. Their clothes fall apart to easily, their towels are to thin, their unbreakable Corelle dishes break, the customer service is lousy and I have been on hold forever. When I get this many marks against a store, well I am done.
