An hour after ordering their website showed that the item was "In stock". A WEEK later it's still listed as "In stocK". Calling them twice got me no information as to when it would actually ship. The last request to get a shippng date got me a promise to investigate the matter but it would take 48 hiurs to get back to me. This is one useless operation - the worst internet supplier I've ever dealt with.

Will never again shop at Ace Hardware. The worse customer service and return policy I've come across in a long time. My advise, don't shop there! There are too many home improvement stores out there who will work with you.

I like Ace Hardware. I go to my local neighborhood shop wherever I'm living. For online purchases though there isn't much to like about Acehardware.com - the website isn't very good, the prices aren't great, the packaging is bad and the service is slow. IMO Acehardwareoutlet.com is better. They have great prices and fast and friendly service, plus it's run by a family that has had an Ace Hardware store in NY for 30+ years. I also like that Acehardwareoutlet.com tries to use biodegradable peanuts and recyclable air packaging instead of styrofoam.

I bought spring garden supplies at Ace specifically because rebates were offered. A month after I submitted my rebate request EXACTLY AS INSTRUCTED BY ACE, Ace refused to honor its own rebate because ACE could not find its OWN product number. This is a complete ripoff. Ace should be ashamed. Without the rebates that Ace promised, the prices would have been too high. In addition, I had to waste a lot of time waiting for the Ace clerk to find and fill out the rebate form. Then I had to waste more time at home submitting the actually worthless rebates.

Absolutely attrocious. I did the ship-to-store. Two of the items never arrived. Four phone calls later I am told that they will have to credit me for the missing items and I can no longer get them at the original price. I had a similar problem like this about a year ago with them. Their customer service is third world as is their tracking system. Often their website doesn't work as well. Terrible, terrible company.

This was my first time trying to buy online from ACE. I say "try" because after registering online, placing the order, filling in all billing and shipping data, and receiving an order acknowledgment online, the order was cancelled by ACE. The cancel notice said to call customer service to have the order shipped directly to my home - originally it was shipping to my local ACE store. I called the number and was directed through a long list of voice commands and finally got to a representative only to find out the product was not available. Why wasn't I told that the product wasn't available when I looked at it on line and why did I receive a confirmation email? What a waste of time. From now on I'll stick to Amazon for online orders and will go to my local Home Depot and Sears Hardware for direct purchases. Don't waste your time with ACE.

They would not let me take the item they had in stock when I visited the store a week after I made my online purchase. I had to wait until the ordered item came in.
The price of the item in the store was 20% lower than the online price. They never notified me about the item arriving so I called the week after it did. They don't do cash refunds. Never again. SV |

I bought all new bulbs for my house and had them shipped to my local store. I picked them up, but realized that they were the wrong size. So I ordered the correct ones, and when I went back to pick up the new ones and return the old ones, they would only give me an IN-STORE credit. No refunds! So now I have a store credit which I CAN'T use online! I'd like to say I will never buy from them again, but I can't cause I have to use up this store credit now.

Ordered an item three weeks before Christmas. Then used their online tracking to find out what happened to my order today (12/21). The order had been cancelled!! I received absolutely NO notification that my order had been cancelled. I called to see why my order had been cancelled and was told that the item was out of stock. The item was still listed on the web site and their system said that there were two in stock- plus I had placed my order 11 days ago. The absolute WORST online retailer I have ever used. You would think that a national retailer would have a competent online store - it was useless!! You are better off writing a letter to the North pole.

Shopped on-line for GutterStuff (wonderful product), and needed a lot to cover my house. Had it shipped to my local store, got there on-time and the store manager was very helpful and quick to find the boxes and help me put them in the car.

Stay away from Ace Hardware Online store... Ordered an item, a month later, still waiting for the item. Emailed them, and they told me the item is on the way. Then waited for another 2 more weeks, still nothing. Then sent them another email, and again told me it would be here next week. I should have read the reviews before placing an order with Ace Hardware. I guess just have have to wait for another 2-3 weeks and send them another email.

Great Selection, Great Prices, No Shipping Charges

This is a good online store because you can find exactly what you want and not pay for shipping. I wanted a small Rival Crockpot and would have been charged $10 shipping from an ebay store. For a low price item I felt that that was unacceptable. I then wanted a particular electric smoker. With gasoline prices being as high as they are, I didn't want to drive all over the place looking for the exact smoker (and just try calling Target for telephone information, Walmart is better, but none of those big stores have good (i.e.knowledgeable) telephone customer service. Acehardware.com not only had exactly what I wanted, it was more than $20 cheaper than anywhere else (and didn't require driving around or paying for shipping.) Ace does take about a week or 10 days , but so does ebay for shipping the larger items (I have had ebay take two weeks).

My experience with Ace Hardware on line was the worst experience I have had in all my on line ordering history. The order was wrong, the on line information was wrong, the shipping info was wrong.It has been 26 days and I have not received the product.
The worst of the experience was that when I would call their "customer service"; I could not get any information. These people DO NOT work for Ace, they are outsourced. They continually said that they would call me back with the information. This did not happen. I would recommend NOT ordering from ACE Hardware on line. |

I WAS LOOKING FOR SPECIAL BRACKETS THAT NO ONE SEEM TO CARRY EVEN ON THE WEB. I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER WHO DIRECTED ME TO ACE HARDWARE. THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL AND NOT ONLY ORDERED THE BRACKETS BUT GAVE ME A CHOICE OF COLOR.
THEY CONFIRMED BY EMAIL AND HAD THE MANUFACTURER SHIP THEM DIRECTLY TO ME. THEY ARRIVED AS PROMISED AND WERE MUCH CHEAPER THAN I EXPECTED AS ACE DISCOUNTED THE PRICE. THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL AND EASY TO DEAL WITH. THE OTHER NEGATIVE LETTERS ABOUT ACE HARDWARE ALL SEEM TO INVOLVE SHIPPING THE PURCHASES TO A LOCAL STORE WHICH DID NOT SELL THE PRODUCT AND HAS LITTLE OR NO REASON TO ASSIST THE BUYER. |

Very bad experience. They entered the wrong product on my order. Once I realized it via their web site, they said the order although had not shipped, they were unable to cancel the order. If I refused delivery, I would be responsible if the shipper lost the product. I will not order from them again.

This was a terrible experience. I ordered quite a long time ago (11 full days) and the order has not even been shipped from the warehouse. I called and the people were less than helpful and then said it would still be 4-10 bus. days until the store would receive the product for me to pick it up. I am looking for a new place to shop.

It was okay... I found other stores offered a better description with more emphasis on customer care.. As per cost I have seen better prices on other online stores IE Walmart and Amazon..I will continue to check the site for more updates
