BEWARE this company is very unethical. I had a return. They took a week to get back to me. Then they told me I was too late to do the return. I am very upset that they would treat a loyal customer this way. I will no longer order from them. They go by the date of order even though it took over a week to get to me. So really I had less than 20 days to do the return. I do not like ordering from companies who do this. I have had problems in the past where I ordered one item and they send me more than one. I have had bottles leak but I never did a return until now. Unbelievable that they treat people like this.

Unethical Shipping Promises - Over this past year 2011, I have ordered from VitaCost early in the morning with the stated promise of same day shipping. EVERY time, my order was shipped within 2 days. This last time, I ordered Tuesday morniing the 6th of December, on the 8th of December I received an email confirmation of shipping. This time I had paid for 2 day shipping - my December 6, 2011 order will reach me via my email confirmation - December 10 or 11 - Saturday or Sunday.
I cannot take herbs and vitamins for healing my body from a company that is unethical and blatantly lies on their website promising same day shipping. I am finsihed with VitaCost. |

I would never order from Vitacost again, unless you are not in a hurry. They do not ship the same day or the next day. In fact they did not ship until I emailed them asking where my package was. If you need a refund, be prepared to wait 2 to 4 weeks after they receive the package (their words). Customer service would give me 5% off on the next order, I don't think at 50% off I would order from them again.

They changed for the worse! I was a very loyal customer and spent a lot of money here over the years, I sent gifts from Vitacost, i recommended them to coworkers, family, friends, professionals and then they changed their billing procedures charging me in which twice for the same order because of a new policy of an initial charge and then a recharge when they ship. The second extra charge didn't drop off for days after tying up my funds. They were more interested in selling me on why there policy is unchangeable than trying to listen to a loyal customer. I like the prices but the indifferent cusomter service will eventually make them go the way of Nefflix and they will lose customers. Shop local it is better for the environment anyway

Don't buy product from this company. I am in los angeles . I placed order 5 days go, but still didn't get package which was shipped from las vegas.
What the advitise on their website ? order by 4 pm ship the same day. It sounds fast . But what's this cheap company do ? send package to ups . and told ups transfer pacakge to usps . now on the usps system , it show that the package can't be trackd . |

Do NOT shop from VitaCost! VitaCost support team would not reply to 4 emails regarding their missing parcel. After speaking on Chat via the net they promised a supervisor would contact me which they failed to do. After waiting a month I had to phone them directly. I never did get my parcel. They charged me delivery costs to the U.K. and 10% re-stocking charge! THEY DON'T THINK ANYTHING ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

I ordered 5 cans of Air Therapy from Vitacost because they offered it for a discounted price. What a mistake! I've used this excellent product for several years, and have ordered it from other stores. It always arrived in perfect condition because it was packed appropriately for shipping. However, Vitacost does not know how to pack spray cans for shipment. I ordered 5 cans. They were packed so the metal cans bumped each other while shipping, rather than padding each can individually. Much of the liquid air freshener leaked out into the ziploc bag they were placed in -- obviously anticipating that they would leak! I will definitely order Air Therapy again -- from a different company!
I've sent two emails to Vitacost customer service, asking for assistance regarding the order. They will not respond to me. They're now sending me daily ads, but will not respond to my email regarding the problems with my order. Find another company to do business with. I will never order anything else from Vitacost. There are too many reputable companies to purchase from. |

I ordered a large shipment from vitacost with upgraded 2 day shipping. recieved only half the order at faster shipping ( which we needed for an event ) then later on the rest of the order with regular ground. When we called to complain to vitacost at first they would do nothing, after speaking with a supervisor at first they offered me $15 back, i told them that wasnt sufficient so after placing me on hold for a while they came back on and raised it $25 thats not even a half of what i paid for the shipping. So i told her i paid for something i didnt get she said she could do nothing else for me. I find it totally unacceptable to not fulfill the order properly and then when a mistake is made to not even adequatly accomidate the customer . Bad Service. AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF I NEVER EVEN GOT BACK THE REFUND THEY SAID I WOULD FOR THE $25.00 !!!

Ordered a product, received half strength capsules. Item listed as 560mg, got 280mg capsules. Spoke to two reps and a supervisor. Company only offered to come and get them and then credit my card. I insisted on a price adjustment which they wouldn't do. I cannot say enough bad things about these people. They are a fraud, they are thieves. They sent half strength products AND WOULD MAKE NO ADJUSTMENT NOR APOLOGIZE. AVOID!! |

I only really started getting an inkling that I might be getting "Scammed" by Vitacost after wating for my order for 3 weeks - and it still hasn't arrived! I emailed them and they gave me some kind of run around so I started searching on the net for info on this company and its Scary what I've turned up! I accept now that I've lost my $75.00 order - and even if it turned up in the future I wouldn't use their products,which many are saying are of questionable quality and safety! I feel Abused and Cheated! I called my credit card company and they "cancelled" that card so that Vitacost and its associates can't Scam me again! For sure I'll now first be checking the Reviews of any company I deal with online! To be Fore Warned is to Fore Armed!!! I'm amazed theres not a a Class Action Lawsuit against these Cheats?

Back in 2010, we spend the whole labor day weekend looking for products on sale and purchased over $600 of some specially low price bulk products from Vitacost. They cancelled over 70 of the items we brought without any sound reasons. (They said they had a computer computer technical error, but why didn't they shut down their website or fix the problem during those three days?). After those three days, they were still selling these items but at a different (regular) price on their website. What a waste of time. My husband would have worked during those hours he spend on searching for those special priced items on Vitacost. He charges $135 per hour if he work on his own job.

I ordered a number of items on 8 April and expected to have a shipping confirmation with 24-48 hours, it's now 14 April and my order has still not been shipped.
The other thing that bugs me is that I've ordered just three items but have been billed for two lots of shipping! Feeling like I've been ripped off and I've not even got the stuff yet! This is my first experience of shopping with them, so far I'm NOT impressed. |

I like Vita Cost, their prices, product choices and shipping rates. And their web site is easy to navigate.
However, I believe there is a conflict of interest. Vita Cost has their own signature brand called "NSI". They seem to lead people towards their own products moreso than all the other brands they wholesale. They also do not post my negative reviews on their products but they have no problem of posting my positive reviews. I say it's a good site but DO NOT RELY ON ANY POSITIVE REVIEWS. The people writing reviews just want to see their name on the site. |

I placed an order through vitacost.com. I'd love to review my order, except...I haven't received it. How I spent a good part of my day:
Call UPS (Delivery service for my package). They state that the package is now at my "regular" post office. Try to figure out which of the four nearby post offices is "my regular" one. Contact the USPS, which will not take my UPS tracking number. Told to call Vitacost directly. Call Vitacost. They explain that once UPS hands it over to the USPS they can no longer track it. As in, there is now NO WAY to track the package for which I have ALREADY paid. They state this is because I chose standard delivery. Hmmmph. It would have been nice to know that through their website BEFORE ordering... |

I bought a few times from them by sending a check by mail, no issues. Then, stupid me, I placed a phone order, gave them a credit card number, and fraudulant charges started. Although their website "claims" all orders received before their cut-off time will ship the same day, our order took five business days and only shipped after emails (which were never answered) and phone calls. It was a 12 minute wait on-hold before a sleepy/bored-sounding CS rep said she "thought" the order was being held because they were "questioning" why we had a different ship-to address than bill-to address! As we told the rep-- we've shipped orders to our business address for 18 years and this has never been a problem with ANY other company AND besides why hadn't they contacted us about this? In addition, we had paid extra for speedy shipping because we needed the product. She offered no response to that, as-in "tough luck". A reputable company might have credited the extra shipping charge to show goodwill. We didn't care about the charge, just on principal-- do something to show the customer is appreciated. This was the worst online ordering experience I've had and I'm making it a point to register a complaint. There are some very good online vitamin/supplement suppliers, so word-to-the-wise, go elsewhere and AVOID VITACOST!

So far vita cost has been great- GREAT prices and FAST shipping(and reasonable S & H). I've seen that "shopping essentials" offer at the end of every purchase and though it always draws me in a bit- what, with it's talk of completing a brief survey and getting, like, $20 towards your next purchase AND free shipping or some such thing, but I READ the fine print, discover the cost and decline- no worries! Sorry about others' problems and would like to respond to the post accusing another satisfied customer of being a company shill. That post doesn't 'jibe' because these posts are concerning people who feel scammed by the co.(that's why they fall under the heading 'vitacost scam'!), NOT just a regular cross section of vitacosts' customers- those posts are make up the overall rating(something like 3 1/2 outta 5)and seems to be more happy people than not. I called 2 weeks after I ordered and they hadn't sent it yet! I cancelled the order, and got the items elsewhere. Two weeks later, I got an e-mail notice saying the order had shipped and they charged my PayPal, which came out of my checking account. I hadn't allowed for that when I paid bills that month, so I could easily have bounced a check. Got the runaround from customer service and was so stressed, I cried. They said they couldn't give me a refund until they got the package back. I refused the package and they issued the refund finally, but it took another 2 weeks to show up in my account. Another week later, they charged me for some mousepad that was allegedly on backorder, but wasn't even on the original order. I've lost a lot of time and have been really upset. I usually wouldn't even write a review, but I want people to be spared my horrible experience.

Ordering from Vitacost is hardly worth the few dollars saved. You will find that many of the ordered items will be placed on backorder even when the site indicates the item will be shipped within 24 hours. The order will not be shipped if an item is on backorder and it may take weeks to finally receive an order. If you call to speak with a Vitacost representative, expect a lengthy wait. I am going to try other sites and hope for better customer service.

Nurse Practitioner recommended I try Horse Chestnut to help veins in left leg. Read what I could find on product & ordered 2, 180 ct bottles from Vitacost. Shipped & arrived in timely fashion, but after taking product 3 days, I started bleeding internally. Had to dig deep to find product was not recommended for those with Ulcerative Colitis (no warning on bottle). I emailed for return authorization number after 20 days (30 day return policy) & got no response. Vitacost says they respond in 24 hours....guess not! Tried again a week later, again NO RESPONSE! Vitacost must figure if they can get by the 30 day return policy, they got your money & you have nothing! NEVER AGAIN......I'll just pay a little more at the store in the Mall
