Newegg used to be a great place to buy computer parts, but no more.  Their standard return policy has changed from a year to merely 30 days, and they take their time processing them.  They used to be quite efficient.

Their liberal return policy was a big reason I was a loyal customer, because electronics have a bad habit of failing.  Now Newegg is no better than anyone else.  Next time I’ll drive to my neighborhood Fry’s.  At least there I can get replacement parts immediately instead of waiting and waiting and waiting.

My first, and often only, stop for computer hardware. Fast service, quite often free shipping, twice daily "shell shocker" deals - the only time I've ever been disappointed is buying a battery (where UPS shipping, the cheapest, was nearly twice the cost of the battery. We're still talking about under ten dollars, though.) There's very little I won't buy here for my computer hardware needs. (And they have more than computer hardware - gaming consoles, appliances, TVs and such are also in Newegg's store.)
The only times I go elsewhere first are if I need something today (hardware failure, for instance,) or if the item's big or heavy enough that shipping overpowers the savings.

Newegg.com is my go-to retailer for electronics. Great prices, excellent customer service, easy-to-use website, fast shipping (and usually free). I also appreciate the customer product reviews. There's usually no reason to shop elsewhere.

If you buy something from Newegg they will charge you out the butt to return it.

I sent back something and this is what it cost me.

$99.99 For Videocard i got
$7.84 for shipping
$8.31 to ship it back $15.00 restocking fee total is $131.14
they gave me credit of$84.99
So it cost me $46.14 to get a videocard that was bad.

I stumbled on newegg.com accidently as I was trying to purchase a Rock band bundle from Walmart.com, (they actually took the product out of my cart before checkout) and I was looking over the page and saw newegg.com at the bottom of the page. I clicked on it and found the bundle I had been searching for, for awhile. I was pleasently surprised not only did they have it in stock, but would ship it to me for FREE !!! Also not sure why but there was NO sales tax charged. I could NOT have been happier purchasing the product anywhere else. Saved me ALOT of money and it came right to my door !! From now on I will ONLY buy video games and electronics from NEWEGG.com. My only wish (with six children) is that they would start selling clothes too !!! LOL .......Hope you have a very Merry Christmas !!!

I recevied the lowest price available anywhere on this unit from Newegg, plus free shipping. I'm also supposed to be getting an additional 20.00 off my bill because I paid with a new Newegg credit card. All in all, a great deal! The unit arrived on time, in excellent condition. The Sony 9 inch DVD player is a beautiful piece of gear, with an awesome screen! As of right now, I'm happy as a clam! Thanks!

Newegg does offer good pricing, but has horrible customer service and returns.  If you are buying something like a computer (like me), I would suggest brick and mortar first.  It will be worth a few extra dollars to hop in your car and be able to return your item for replacement or credit.  I returned my laptop and not only have I gotten a refund or replacement (as they advertise), but they still have my broken laptop.  I'm being forced to dispute the charges with my credit card company.  Not worth it.

Newegg allows buyers to order items they do not have in stock and do not back order. Later they send an email claiming the order was voided because the buyer had exceeded a quantity limit. While waiting for Newegg I missed a chance to purchase the item from a seller who had it in stock. Very unprofessional to say the least.

NewEgg.com performed pretty good. One minor flaw in the process involved my purchasing a 2-year extended warranty & paying for it with my other purchases. However, the 2-year extended warranty DID NOT COME with my order. I had to call to see exactly when I would receive it. There was no mention on the invoice as to WHEN Iwould get it - nor on their ordering site. After phoning, I was told that it would arrive approx within one month. This bit of information SHOULD HAVE been on the ordering site and also on the invoice that I received with the other products I received. It is irritating that I had to spend my time to find out about this little clitch! The only other thing that waas negative was that I paid $2.99 for EXPEDIENT shipping which I thought meant that I would receive it within one business day. Turned out that it arrived six days later.

This November 2009 I bought an ASUS P5N-D mb for $90 that came WITHOUT hardware, drivers or manual, in a UPS box, with a case screw still on the board.  It was sold as an 'open box'.  It was obviously used and should have been sold as "USED".  Don't trust NEWEGG anymore.  I won't.
