I am very satisfied with Lowe's and Lowes.com. All of our experiences have been very positive. The store sales help has helped us to locate items online, including appliances having features I wanted which were not displayed in the physical store.

I would advise against ordering any appliences from Lowes.
They use subcontractors for delivery and installaion and at least in my experience the quality of work is terrible. I ordered gas stove and drier. Gas stove was damaged during the installation and was leaking gas. The drier was not operational. I ended up replacing the stove and returning the drier. The whole ordeal took about 2 weeks. Customer support is minimal. |

Placed a special order and recv'd a call that it had arrived. Drove over to pick it up. Waited 1/2hr for a warehouse person to come to the front desk, waited another 1/2hr until he bought the wrong order. I ordered 8" china blue tiles - 3 boxes. what was delivered and accepted by lowes 5 boxes of 12 * 12 beige tile from a different company. Now I call that gross inefficiency and mis-management of time, staff and knowledge. In these days of computerized tracking and ordering how could you allow that to happen, how do all the people involved in ordering & accepting inventory not realize something is wrong and FIX it. I think they just don't care. NEVER shopping at lowes again not even going to use the $10 gift certificate which in no way compensates me for my time and gas.

placed an order for a storm door and to have it it installed transaction date June 3, paid in full, still no installation , I called 10 times and got no real response,after this episode I'm never going back there and also telling my friends not to go

Lowe's is an indoor/outdoor home improvement store that has similarities to many other stores like Home Depot. They try to offer slightly varied products from their competitors, but in my opinion they are very similar to many other stores out there.

I love Lowe's. Helpful staff that recognize you after you've been there a few times. Neat, clean and organized appearance. Lot's of variety, and reasonably priced. I can always find what I need quickly, and if I can't find something, help is just a second away.

It's nice that you can in theory "buy" things over the web, and then pick them up in person. However, I ended up having to wait in line three times after the online order:
1) On the phone getting them to verify they really [thought they] had the products they sold me 2) In person while they searched for products 3) In a checkout, except that documenting an already paid online purchase is much more complicated than a regular purchase and took supervisory mentoring. It turned out they couldn't fulfill all of the order after all, but made a reasonable partial substitute. Also, it can be convenient for the buyer that they have so many idle workers available (even if most do not seem to know how to operate their antiquated computer systems.) |

As a professional contractor I went to Lowe's.com to find, purchase and delivery for plywood, drywall and material in under a day. After a bit of tooling around the site I was able to get what I need and found out I can have the material delivered site specific. The delivery came a little late in the morning but I received 85% of my material whereas the other 15% had to be shipped from another store outside of my area. Lowes.com had a useful page called Lowe's For Pros and had all these articles and forms I can use for my contracting business. I called Lowe's afterwards to follow up and they wanted to know if there was anything else I needed. I've had my experience with Home Depot and found Lowe's to be more personable and more willing to provide personal service.

Fastest Rebate Ever!!

I recently bought a product at Lowe's that came with a $10 rebate from the store. I couldn't believe it when I got a check from Lowe's only 2 WEEKS later!
Most of you know how slow rebates can be. Further, some rebate processors look for a lame reason to disqualify your rebate request. Once, I received a post card with my name and address on it stating that my rebate request was denied because I didn't submit my name and address (duh! it was mailed to me)! It is refreshing to have a pleasant and super fast rebate response. In addition, my overall shopping experience was above average. |

I know of 3 Jacuzzi tubs that were purchased from Lowes. AND all 3 leak. LOW End quality iS LOWES. Jacuzzi is supposed to be a good name except the brand they sell at Lowes. It is junk. Make sure you test your tub before installing.

Lowe's is a better then average home improvement store
There is always plenty of parking and carts are always available except Saturday afternoon and I avoid the place then anyway because of the crowds. The selection is excelent and everyone is friendly and don't run when they see you coming like they do in Home Depot and other stores. |

Just tried Lowe's online shopping. Went to the website and selected the bulk items I needed. Than selected store delivery. BIG MISTAKE.
I got a confirming email with an order number. But the Lowes store is clueless as to what the order number means. Apparently, after you'd ordered on the Net, they send a little post-it to the store where it promptly gets lost. Than after a week trying to set up delivery. I was told it'll be here on Sunday between 12 and 4. I called at 2 to confirm that it's on the truck and was told yes. I called at 5:45 and was told what delivery? We don't know any delivery. Don't bother with Lowe's online. Come to think of it, I don't think I'll bother with Lowe's stores at all. I never had this happen to me at Home Depot. Home Depot stores are dirtier, but when they say they'll deliver, they deliver. And I don't waste a whole Sunday waiting. |

The salesperson in the AC dept didnt know SQUAT (nothing) ABOUT AC's.. I didnt need to ask anything because I researched all I needed to know and more. Actually, he was giving wrong info to a customer who was inquiring about an AC.. I stepped up to the plate and the customer wound up THANKING ME!!!!!!!!!! ..lol... lowes is a store where you have to help yourself. The few salesKIDS I ran into didnt know much and werent helpful at all ( esp in the paints and AC dept).. other than that...you have to help yourself and know before going into the store.. I would go there again because they have a big selection of things..
