First time shopping with J&R but they had some good reviews so I gave them a shot. Their price on the printer I purchased beat all others and the order process was easy. The shipping date and anticipated arrival was accurate (the tracking was easy as well). This was a great experience and I would repeat.

Very poor customer service. I bought a Rhapsody Ibiza MP3 player. It took 1 week to get it. Unfortunatly the headphone jack was damaged and I had to return it. Took 3 weeks to get the return. This is entirely to long. It took a week to get there, OK. After they got the return it took another week to process it and ship my new one. This is entirely to long. I have been doing buisness with other companies and they only take 1 day to process the return and ship it out. Some have even shipped it as soon as I call for a return then credit my credit card when they get the old one back.

J&R was helpful and efficient. However the SONY CD player I bought was less so. It was a flimsy unit that lacked remote controls of the unit's power. the buttons were obscure so that people with normal vision were reduced to searching for the controls on the unit. With the third or fourth use of this SONY Player the disc compartment jammed with my CD disc inside. There was no mechanism available to release the compartment and retrieve my disc. J&R was willing to accept the defective CD Player and offered to have someone in the Returns Dept. open the nit and return my jammed disc inside. I hope they are successful and I am awaiting the return of both the disc and a new replacement unit.

The deliveries were received on time and as scheduled according to the tracking link provided via email. The items were well-packed and undamaged, a very important factor for me since some of them were kind of sensitive electronics and optical (photographic) accessories. I will add that some of them were also very specialized, and which I was unable to find locally. No, I do not live in the middle of nowhere ... This is Las Vegas, Baby!
Accuracy of deliveries were just impeccable. The description(s) on website matches perfectly with items received. Regarding Customer Service, there was not any need for personal contact, so far ... so, I dunno. I will presume that it follows the same quality level of the rest of their services. Prices are overall competitive, and emails with special offers can add to savings. For everything I purchased, I had'em compared with at least ten other competitors. The website is highly professionally designed and set. Excellent navigation, database search, and so on. Of course, checkout is secured. I have personally VERIFIED their certificates. |

I recently purchased a LAMY Ballpoint Pen, SAFARI model, shiny red from JR. The pen has a simple, unassuming design with a comfortable grip and a unique pocket clip that reminds one of a paper clip. JR's price was surprisingly low. The pen is the second of this style I've purchased. I was sort of surprised that JR carried it! LAMY has an unusual line of ballpoints, pencils and ink pens. One, in particular, is the LAMY 2000 series. On first look the design might not appear unusual but upon examination you'll see the subtleties that makes this model stand out. LAMY has been producing it since the middle '60s and is now making it with different materials and colors. The original (with fiber glass, I think) is still the classic. JR's price, service and follow up (I was offered a discount if I purchased another item relative to this purchase) has made the company a pleasure to do business with. I'm sorry JR doesn't have the 2000 series in its inventory.

This company will go to any length to make sure the customer is happy. When I received my order, I could not find the two NMH batteries (2) that were supposed to be included with the order. I contacted them with the problem and three days later I received a package of (4) new batteries. They did not manufacturer the product & were not liable for the batteries for the stero headphones I purchased but happyly took responsibility & sent the batteries & paid the shipping. This is a rare quality in this day & age. I would highly reccomend J & R. Their price was also substantially lower than anyone else for the same model headphones.

Horrific. I ordered a wine fridge for my parents for Christmas and the only positive thing is that it came in on time. It took several days for the order to be processed, which I understand because of the busy holiday season, but the almost two hundred dollar fridge was very very poorly packaged and not protected which, of course, resulted in several severe breaks rendering the product useless. Literally, the box was torn up, there was a plastic wrap covering the fridge but that is about it - no styrofoam, no peanuts. The door was broken off and the glass front was of course broken. We returned our item and will never buy from this vendor again. We ordered a new fridge from WalMart and even though it was more expensive, I did not have to put up with the hassle of getting a wine fridge and all its broken components in and out of my living room.

Inconvenienced and not satisfied with policies

Not satisfied with purchase; purchased a refurbished HP mini PC 1137NR and the A/C jack was still damaged. It would not stay connected via power cord to A/C source and the battery therefore would not receive a charge.
JR's policies require you to deal with the manufacturer if you have initialized the hard drive, so after contacting HP and a 45 minute phone call, to expedite repair on this Christmas gift, I had to pay $37 FEDEX shipping one-way for the repair. The repair is cover by warranty but the hassle of shipping and trying to get the gift back in a timely matter makes me not so happy. Have purchased refurbished items from elsewhere before and had much success. JR World does not seem to do much quality control checking of their merchandise and makes it very hard on consumer to have any issues corrected. |
