Because I live in a remote area I do a significant amount of shopping on the internet. I have never had a problem with any merchant until my experience with Etronics.
I ordered a camera from Etronics. They called me, purportedly to confirm my shipping address, but actually to subject me to a "hard sell" for camera accessories. I agreed to purchase some additional items, including a battery charger which I was told I would need for the rechargeable batteries. When the package arrived, I discovered that the camera came with a battery charger so I did not need another one. Also, the camera bag (which I thought was specific to the camera) was actually a camcorder bag. When I called about returning these two items, I was informed that I could only return ALL the items, including the camera, because all the items were a "package". Also, there would be a restocking fee that was significantly more than the cost of the 2 items I wanted to return. So I kept everything but I am not happy about it. (Love the camera, hate the company I bought it from.)
I feel I was misled into buying additional items I did not need. Also, their position that by adding the other items I had created a "package deal" that included the camera was unreasonable and certainly not explained to me at the time I authorized the purchase of the additional items. I have since read other reviews about this company indicating the same problem with "hard sell" additional items and wish I had known this before doing business with them.
I wanted to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but the representative refused to tell me the physical location of their office so I could file the complaint in the appropriate place. I will never buy anything from Etronics again.
