The Nikon D70 (about $1200.00) was huge purchase for me, I wanted to make sure that the dealer was both honest and an authorized Nikon dealer so I would not have any "gray market" problems or someone trying to sell me hundreds of dollars in unnecessary equipment, warranties, or charging ridiculous shipping and handling fees. I've read literally hundreds of reviews where customers were lured in by cheap prices only to be charged exorbitant fees or made to buy some expensive package option.

In my search for the best price on the Nikon D70, I decided to use a sorted froogle list (google's shopping search) for the Nikon D70 kit and then look up each seller's record on http://www.resellerratings.com/ starting with the lowest price.

After checking 5-7 other retailers and reading exhaustive reviews, I came upon ephotocraft.com. They had a very high rating and not one reviewer had a bad thing to say about them. I am joining the ranks of their loyal customers.

On December 8th, 2004, I decided to place my order on Ephotocraft.com. As I put the camera into my cart, I noticed that you could get a Nikon Camera bag and a protective filter for a modest charge but I was not sure if the included filter would fit the D70. So I called and I explained my dilemma, the sales person was very knowledgeable and friendly. It turned out that the filter in the kit would NOT fit the new D70, so I am glad I called.
I also asked about extended warranties and he told me that no warranty but the Nikon warranty is worth the money. Imagine a retailer turning down additional easy money!

The only minor snag was that I had to pay with my Visa card because Visa/MC allow an alternate shipping addresses to be put on file whereas Amex does not. Ephotocraft requires that the shipping address be registered with the credit card company. I am not sure if this is because the dollar amount was very high or if it's required for all of their customers. So I had to register an alternate shipping address with my visa card. This took about 5 minutes and I did not mind as it protects consumers and retailers from
fraud.

On December 9th, I received an email saying that my order had shipped and gave me the tracking number.

On December 13th, the package arrived and was delivered by UPS (it required a signature). It was well packed
contained the entire order, a clear receipt, and all the necessary rebate information.

Ephotocraft is a first class operation. You should not have any qualms about using them.
