DO NOT BUY FROM!!!!!!! ITEMS SHOW ON THERE SITE THAT THEY ARE IN STOCK BUT THERE NOT! I RECEIVED A EMAIL AFTER 4 DAYS PURHASING MY ITEM.THAT IT IS NOT IN STOCK.I CALLED UP THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS POOR SO I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR.WHO WAS EVEN WORSE! Don't look for customer service with this outfit, they have none! Order was placed 5/18 and nothing as of 5/27. Tracking number reveals "No results were returned for your tracking number" everyday this number was checked. Call them twice only to be disconnected/hung up on and three emails have resulted in nothing. This is the second time this has happened, on the first one I gave them the benefit of the doubt but now I see this is the norm for this outfit. There are way too many good outfits that know how to communicate, have good prices and get the goods into your hands on a timely bases to even fool around with this outfit. NEVER again!

I place an order in March 25, 2008 for four laptops at cost $ 2800 with shipping. Order has arrived four days later. One laptop was defective and I requested return authorization and after a week received return label. I know from them that they received this laptop, however they are very unwilling to refund me my money. They dragging their feet for more then 30 days and I see from their customer service ( worst I ever have to deal with ) that they either want to keep my money or wait to infinity with the refund. They are not straight talker. They say, that their resolution department investigate this case. (Frankly I do not know what they need to do) At least four times I suppose to receive resolution about the refund, but in spite of the promise 2 to 3 days they never respond to me. I will wait another week until I will issue the charge back on my credit card. Do not deal with them.

So I ordered a digital camera and an SD card from ecost.com, they sent it via DHL, DHL lost my package and I had to submit all kinds of forms to DHL and to ecost. Its been about a month now and I have still not gotten my money back form ecost I have called them several times. They are well aware that my package did not make it and is not comming, that has been verified by DHL, but they want me to wait 30 days before they will refund my money. Like most forign companies they just want to keep as much money in the bank as they can so they can feed off of the interest. Not only will I never do business with ecost again, I will do anything in my power to turn other people away from wasting valuable time and money on this kind of crap.

Ordered a camera memory card which eCost web site said was in stock. I also paid for expedited shipping. After not receiving the memory card for 3 days, I followed up by phone. Was told that the card was on back order. They said it was impossible to cancel the order. It was also impossible to get a supervisor on the phone to discuss issue. Customer service is clueless and doesn't care. Their stock answer is "we are sorry for any inconvenience." So am I. eCost must have a policy of not cancelling orders, even if an item is misrepresented on their web site as being "in stock." BUYER BEWARE!

I ordered Motorola H700 Bluetooth headset for # 25.99 + $9 (shipping). It arrived in 6 days. So good enough shipping experience. But the headset was Dead on Arrival (DOA), unit does not charge, charger of the unit works, but the unit does not charge at all. Headset also seems used. I am going to contact their customer service, let's see what they have to say.

The first X2gen 22" flat screen monitor was broken, The second monitor worked. The $50.00 Rebate I was suppose to receive never happened. I filled out all the paper work as instructed and mailed it in. I bought the monitor in June 2007. I have contacted eCost.com through emails. I have emailed the rebate people that I mailed the application to. I have emailed X2gen about the rebate. I have not had anyone try to solve the problem. Finally I filed a complaint with the Office Of Consumer Fraud at www.c3.gov/. and got a claim number. I may never receive my rebate, but I feel I have done all I can do at this time. I will not purchase another product from eCost.com or X2gen again. Neither company seemed to care about my problem and took no steps to make it right. Don't make the same mistake as I did.

So far, I haven't seen any better deals from other websites. Ecost really has the lowest deals and I like that they give me options if I want refurbished items to be able to save more. Delivery went smooth and I received my order on time. I'll definitely recommend this to my friends.

This is a terrible store that I buy things Online, I ordered a bluetooth headset on November for my sister's Christmas gift, which took 2 weeks to delievery to my home, when I opened it ,the bluetooth is put in a dirty plastic bag, it's unacceptable item, and I call for return RA #, they told me that I need to reorder a replacement in order to send me the return label and promise to send me a factory seal bluetooth, but after 2 weeks, I received the same item put on a dirty bag as last time, I call them more than ten time, they kept telling me, they will send me the return label, as 3 weeks now , I still don't get anything from them,they try to cheating the customer money. that all I can tell.

I decided to go with this option as I did not want to deal with shipping it back and waiting on a replacement or refund. After 2 hours on the phone and 3 days waiting for a new drive from HP I thought I was ready to go then I discovered my card reader did not work either. I bought a Jawbone headset. They charged me $2 more than what was stated on their website. Didn't think much about it... it was only 2 bucks. The headset broke in 2 weeks. Called their customer service and was told that I'll get an email back in 24 hours... I did not. 3 days later I had to contact them and received a short response email which was not clear at all. So, I had to call their customer service again. What they want me to do is to buy ANOTHER ONE before they will let me return the defective one. GO FIGURE!! Their return policy on their website does NOT state this. They are misleading the consumers. Is this legal??
I ordered from them because the product was a few dollars cheaper than some other places. This teaches me a big lesson. Cheaper is not what always counts. Merchant is NOT recommended. |

When dealing with ecost.com, you should be aware that many of their items are refurbished/recertified from the manufacturer. Ideally, this means that these items are as good as the new ones. This wasn't the case when I tried to order a JVC DVD player. It was dead on arrival.
I called customer service for a return authorization. They were helpful, but their policy was that I had to order something of equal or greater value before they would issue a return authorization number. When purchasing refurbs from ecost.com, it's a gamble and you may end up spending a lot more than anticipated because of this policy. At least the service reps I talked to were helpful. I also wrote an e-mail for written confirmation of their return policies regarding refurbs, and I got a response within 1 business day. A nice place to shop, just be aware that you may get a lemon. |

I placed an order for a gps system. When it arrived, it was marked "manufacturer reconditioned". This was not stated when I made my purchase. My repeated attempts to return the product were denied. I was told I could exchange it for another item that cost at least the same amount, but I would have to pay for return shipping. I also learned that in placing my exchange order, I would have to pay for another item before I would receive a refund authorization number to return the initial order-so I would have to trust that this company would actually refund my money. During my four phone calls to this company, I was never given the same information twice and was never allowed to speak to management. I will never ever shop here again and I caution everybody else to shop as well.

Unfortunately for them, eCost thinks they are saving money and time by outsourcing to India or Pakistan. First I find it offensive that an obvious foreign national with an distinct Hindi accent calls him or her self Allen, or Cathy. Then when asking questions, they obviously do not understand and brush you off the phone quickly with repeated Thank yous instead of answers.
I tried with three separate cunstomer service reps (sic) to explain that my Billing address is my mailing address which is a PO Box and not my actual Street Address that my bank holds as an address of record. They could not fathom that the bank uses my PO BOX as my mailing address. This held up my order for three days. As my grandchildren are arriving here today (11/19) and I wanted to give these items to two of them, they may not make the time frame.
I will probably use NewEgg next time
