Ordered 3 blue tooth headsets. 2 fine, 1 DOA. Would not charge or power up.  Easy to trouble shoot, since I had 2 others of the same model.  Called up Ecost for exchange (wanted same model).  Ecost customer rep insisted that I call manufacturer to trouble shoot DOA device. I replied that was not interested in calling the manufacturer and trouble shooting, since it was clearly DOA.  She then informed me that I would have to also pay shipping back to Ecost and 20% restocking fee.  Buyer beware!  Seems if you purchase anything from Ecost that is defective, plan on the run around.

eCost advertised a new computer monitor but shipped me a refurbished one. I notified them the day it arrived and had lots of trouble getting them to take back the monitor. Ultimately had to dispute the charge to my credit card. Their customer service is horrible. I'll never purchase from eCost again.

This is not a good company.  Stay away. I've done a search of their business after my own experience and find so many people that have had bad dealings with them. I myself have experienced price switching after the purchase. I purchased PC Ram at one price, they cancelled my order stating it was not available from the manufacturer and yet that very same day they updated their website with an increased price on that same item and marking it "in stock."

Absolute nightmare!  Worst consumer experience of my (age 50+) life! They sold me a defective Ipod.  It would not play music if I moved it.  I returned it and they replaced it with one that would not hold a charge.  I told them I wanted a refund.  They promised me a refund in writing, but then they alleged that they didn't receive the Ipod and refused to refund my money.  I gave them the FedEx tracking number and they still alleged that they never received the defective replacement Ipod.  While I was arguing with their call center in India, they sent me a third defective Ipod instead of giving me a refund. (This one wouldn't hold a charge either.)  I sent the third one back to their headquarters in Texas and heard nothing from them.  I contacted them by email and received a series of messages promising to contact me in 24-48 hours, but no one ever responds. Over 5 months, I repeatedly attempted to obtain my refund by writing letters to their headquarters, sending emails and talking with their call center in India. Never buy anything from this company.

Prices are good, but they're incompetent

I've ordered from eCost on several occasions, I'd say about half went through with no problems, the other half were nothing but trouble.  They call, they email saying there's a problem with the order -- I call, I respond to the emails and then a few days later they send an email saying they cancelled the order due to no response.  This last order, I received an email from someone who actually gave a name and a direct phone number and when I called the 800-number and dialed his extension, my phone went dead - three times I tried.  Their customer service is in India or the Phillipines or something, can hardly understand them.  It's to the point where I don't bother ordering from them if it's something I really need, just stuff where they had a good price on it, so if I don't get it I'm not really worried about it.  They're undependable.

eCost Sucks

Purchased a trial membership for Platinum Service on eCost, but failed to read the fine print (don't remember it anywhere). It sucked, the "Platinum Membership" was nothing more than a whole lot of bogus emails telling you that you can get something like a big screen TV for $199. When you go to the site--the very link they give you--the price has expired.

Then after four weeks they post a $39.98 charge to your account without telling you. As I never use the account, I was unaware that there was a balance and ignored it for 2 months. Of course the fees made the $39.98 double--so I was paying twice the amount for some crap service I didn't even want.

I write to eCost and they ignore me. Finally I complain to the credit company and they call. eCost finally answers and wouldn't back out the charge. Then eCost refers me to Linda Potter (no relation to Henry) and she is absolutely worthless. Takes 2-3 weeks to get back to me and will not let me to take this higher up the chain.

Stay away!

Will no longer shop at ecost.com Prices are sweet like 30% less than others and easy ordering however they offer no customer satisfaction guarantee. my recent order was the wrong part and I asked to exchange as I would pay shipping and they declined stating all sales are final. this is a bad policy coming from an online vendor. they hold your sale final as if you had a chance to hold the product before purchasing. bad form for an online store in my opinion and ill shop where there is a satisfaction guarantee.

Call them up, they say even though it's listed under description and specifications it doesn't mean the dvd rw included. It only means its compatible with the laptop. Its like saying even though wireless 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN is listed, it isn't included. Might as well sell me a a empty shell of a laptop. eCost have no integrity or honesty, dont do business with them. I'm sticking to New Egg and Amazon.

HORRIBLE

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!!! HORRIBLE. I ordered on July 28, never received the items. THEY messed up my shipping address, I went back to check this, and yea, they messed it up, it was sent back to them, I have the UPS confirmation they signed for it on July 30!!! It is now Sept. 14, and NO REFUND. I have been calling for 2 weeks, every person gives the SAME excuse, and forget about talking to a manager, he's not there, somewhere in a CAR!! i kid you not!!!! I am extremely frustrated!!!! Good luck if you ever order and want a refund. I am close to contacting the BBB, or somewhere to put the word out, 45 days to refund is not acceptable.

Terrible and appaulling

I have bought before at ecost.  Items often arrive on time, however, recent order was an headache.  Customer service reps. argued, refused returns authorization for me to return a defective item out of 5 items I bought. It appears as if I am speaking to someone in Asia - both person sound the same and said the Manager is in a meeting.  My previous order that was delivered on time before has given me a wrong illusion that Ecost is a good company, until you have issue with items to be returned, then they are dubious. Terrible and shameful.  I spent 40 minutes on the phone. I wiill now not buy at ecost.

Currently ECost.com is listing a Toshiba Satellite Pro S300-EZ1511 for $399.00 plus $15.99 for a total of $414.99 on Google Shopping. However, when I tried to order this item they show a price of $469.99 plus shipping on the checkout page.  I called their customer service and explained they are false advertising and they said they will not honor the advertised price of $399.00.  Very poor service and they are guilty of False Advertising!

Without a doubt one of the most frustrating buying experiences I've had. Tried to return a Toshiba Monitor that I bought. The web site is confusing as to whether you're buying a TV or a Computer monitor. I wanted a TV, and got a monitor instead. I would of had no problem paying for return shipping on the item. After calling Ecost.com and listening to the endless hold "Commercial" their representative told me that all sales are final and they don't except returns.
Buyer beware!!! They arn't very customer friendly at all.
Won't buy there again.

I ordered a LCD TV and mount from eCOST.  The TV had a VESA pattern of 200x200.  The mount listed below, only supports 100x200 and not 200x200 like you would expect from the description (taken from the website).  I called them the day after receiving iit.  They said they needed to talk to a product specialist.  No calls back. I have called them 3 times now and I am still getting jacked around.  All over a ~$23 mount.  I am on hold right now as the bunch of monkeys are still looking into it.  They keep saying they will call me back but nothing.  So if you don't ever need any customer service or too return something you might want to buy from them, but this is the last time I will be buying from the useless company.

No Doubt this place is a SCAM!

I was shipped a used item instead of factory refurbished as stated on the site, item came in a zip Lock bag with no software CD nor install guide, item does not have any re certified/reconditioned stickers and is in very poor condition  
 
Item also does not function after I got the software from the web Logitech software says item is defective need to contact customer service, I have wasted 3 hours dealing with this used item and if this is what Logitech considers refurbished I no longer wish to receive any replacements as I do not trust eCOST nor Logitech.  
 
I have called ecost this morning spent 12-minutes online only to find out that they will not provide me with an RA number to return item but did encourage me to deal with the mfg.  
 
I think this is a very shady operation, it may be a SCAM!

Product didn't work with my Mac. But instead of money back I had to order something instead AND PAY UPFRONT AGAIN for the replacement order to get the refund for the first order. But for that I had to a) call the manufacturer for a case number and then b) call them again to give them the case number. But if that wasn't enough I again had to call them I don't know how many times to settle for the replacement and the refund and the return labels to ship back the first order. ONE BIG TIME CONSUMING AND NERVE WRECKING transaction. I am in my fourth week now going back and forth with them and no end in sight. I am *that* close to just cancel my payment via my credit card company to end this mess.

I'm already regretting my purchase with your company and will tell everyone I deal with to avoid eCost.

I purchased 2 Polaroid i737 digital cameras on June 18th. Received them in a timely manner. That was great. However one camera has visual wear and the serial number sticker smudged. The other looks brand new and works fine. The camera with visual wear does not work properly.

I called the 800 number, waited on hold 10 minutes or so, got a lady named Chris. She told me to call the manufacturer and gave me a number to call to get a case number. That number goes to a mail box that is full. I have since emaild them and have yet to hear back.

All I want is a product that works properly. Just replace the camera or give me my money back. I do not think I should have to deal with the manufacturer on something that I just purchased, "recertified" or not.

This will more than likely turn out to be a $45 learning experience.

Ecost shipped the wrong item. Ecost's "World Class" customer service would not respond to the issue by email. Ecost telephone customer service promised a quick resolution with return postage labels, however when contacted 10 days later after no sign of the RMA materials I was informed after a lengthy hold that I would have to wait until the following week to have the "Customer Service Manager" look into the matter. My impression is this company is either very poorly managed or is in bad financial shape. I will pursue the matter with the BBB as well as initiate a credit card charge back. I strongly recommend buyers look to other more reputable online retailers for their purchases

Absolutely the worst. I purchased 3 items and requested 2nd day because we were going to be on vacation. Only 2 items came 2nd day, the 3rd was sent FedEx Ground. At the time of the order, if they had confirmed that the 3rd item was going to be shipped by FedEx Ground I would have not made any purchases, the net result I unnecessarily paid extra for 2nd day delivery. In attempt to correct this situation, I spent a lot of valuable time with their customer service to get a refund as I was unable to receive the 3rd item while on vacation.

Their customer service is horrible. Do not purchase from eCost.

eCost doesn't say ALL SALES FINAL but that is what they are. I am SO angry. I tried to cancel before the item shipped but apparently once they have your money they don't give it back. Ok, I get that, my booboo. It would all be ok if I could just get the camera. It seems the ups plane took off 2 days ago from Texas & NEVER landed. I live in Nevada. You can pretty much get anywhere in the world for a 2 day flight. I called UPS & they have no idea & told me to call eCost & have eCost call them. Well eCost basically told me to F**k off. So here we have it a week later & no camera. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with them. Seriously.

Very slow shipping without explanation

I odered a heater (at a fairly good price) for our cottage on May 5.  I expected delivery at the cottage before our arrival May 21st.  The holiday weekend came and went without the heater, and I got an email that it was shipped on May 26.

We will be back at the cottage soon and hope to find it there, protected from the weather.   The company never said it would be late and failed to acknowledge my email.  A phone call got a "let us know if it is operating okay, but no apology.

The worst customer service ever!!!  
 
i ordered a hp touchsmart laptop and says it was in stock. the lied to me, i place the order using a 2 days delivery and they put my order on backorder because was not in stock and told me to wait 3 week for delivery. i called to customer service using another name and asking for the availability and the told me its on stock. they just want take your money and once you place the order your are Fuc....d i had to cancel the order and still waitting for my refund.  
 
please do not neverrrrrrr trust in this company.  
 
the customer service personal does not care about your frustrations and hang up the phone and tell a lot of lies.

After placing a $400 + order for my company for equipment that needed to go into service 4 days later. (ordered 2nd day air) I received a order cancellation notice via email seven days later. Quote "NR - Customer did not respond to our request for more information"  Phones at my business are monitored 24 hours a day. No calls where received. Only email I got was the cancellation. They also claim they were unable to verifiy credit card info (can't tell you how many Newegg, Tigerdirect, Mwave orders I have placed this year) no problems with these companys. Would not reinstate the order but I could reorder at "possible NEW PRICES" hummm! I don't think so! The hassle and money this has caused will assure I will not do business with them again.

PS... you have to listen to a 30 second commerical to get to customer service with dead air after for another 15 seconds (makes you hang up thinking you have been disconnected)

Beware:  If item is defective out of the box you have no recourse but to the manufacturer - I purchased a TV that was defective "out of the box"  Viewsonic wants me to pay to ship it to California and wants three weeks.  eCost simple washed their hands of the transaction.  No mater what the price - no service no customer.

This is the worst store you could possibly purchase items from.  They don't accept returns on most items.  They are responsive but completely unwilling to help when called.  I cancelled my order next day and they said that my order had shipped.  It actually shipped two days later and then they had the nerve to tell me "no returns."  The item arrived and the screen is messed up, with the pixels darker in one corner of the LCD laptop screen.  Terrible retailer.  Don't buy from them!

horrible store - will not refund your money back

STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!

I recentrly purchesed a Kodack Zi6 from them and wished to return it back the same day I revided it since the item had clear scratches on it - they will NOT accept your product back for a money refund!

Be ware of this - you will not be able to return your item for money back.
