Some things are on the decline here

There's a reason ebay has been running so many specials recently. To make up for their horrid customer service! I had an issue with an item, and it said on the my won page that I had until October 20th to file a claim. It was a record I purchased overseas, so I waited a while to file a complaint since it would take a while to arrive. The seller was very reputable, but I still never received my item. I assume it just got lost. I go to file the claim on the 5th, and it says I need to contact the seller. I do just that. I wait for a response, go back to the resolution center, and it says my deadline was the 7th. So I call customer service, and basically they can just strait up lie to me and there is nothing they can do about it. I waited 40 minutes to hear this. Good luck trying to contact them, the help and contact us pages just go in circles. This will save you an hour of frustration: http://contact.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ContactUsNextGen to contact them. I also used the chat to contact them about a month ago, and the person on the other end couldn't use basic English grammar.
But it's not all bad. If you don't have to contact customer service, you can get many rare items you'd never thought you'd find, and also everyday items that are cheaper than in the store. The navigation of the site (other than getting customer service) is easy to understand, and the paypal checkout makes buying and selling items a breeze.
In the end, I only use ebay for buying if it is cheaper than amazon.com, and selling if it takes too long to sell on amazon.com.
