I buy and sell on ebay, and would highly recommend it to anyone trying to get a head-start in the selling field of vintage costume jewelry. There are some terrific deals on vintage costume jewelry lots, there is absolutely no way that you can lose.  The very fact that you see the item(s) you are bidding on and can enlarge or zoom in is terrific, in fact sometimes a little too good, as I always look forward to the surprise items in the big lots of vintage costume jewelry!  I have bought a lot of jewelry using ebay and cannot express enough how marvelous buying from ebay is.  Not only have I been amazed at the speed of delivery on items and the friendly, one on one customer service I have received, but I am made to feel like I am a very special and valued customer and often receive emails from past sellers I have bought from letting me know of any upcoming merchandise they are going to be listing, they call me by my first name and often even mention a past sale that I may well have forgotten.  
Buying on ebay internationally - no problem, the service and customer satisfaction are outstanding.  Delivery of your items has to be expected to be not quite so prompt as your own country's item delivery, but I have been amazed, even flabbergasted at the speed that some of these items seem to get here from overseas.  So I would definitely not shy away from ordering from overseas.  In fact I have had some terrific deals from Australia.  Some of the jewelry lots are just excellent quality and value for money, especially if buying for re-sale, not only do you have the terrific value from the seller but the rate of exchange US$ vs AU$ is one heck of an added bonus!
