As a buyer it's great. As a seller it sucks.

I have purchased much on e-bay. It's been a good way to find things that are hard to find. But I am a small time seller on e-bay. In truth I've only sold a couple of things.
I've never had the intention of being a big time seller. I sell custom art pieces. each piece requires many hours of my labor, blood, sweat and tears. I can not just pump these things out like a hen laying eggs.
Now Paypal (Owned by e-bay) in conjunction with e-bay has deemed me an "inconsistant seller" because I have only sold a few things using e-bay. It ignores everything I have sold via other sites like facebook, deviantart, and message boards (where my niche market tends to congregate).
The only way you can be deemed a "reliable seller" is to sell through e-bay exclusively. Even though they provide no seller protection. Even though they charge fees upon fees.
Basically, E-bay is using paypal to force people to use e-bay. If you don't do enough money using e-bay, they will hold your money from you for 21 days.
As a buyer, I may still use e-bay. As a seller I'm looking for other options because when I sell my art I need the money right away. My art funds my ability to make my art. I can not, nor should I have to wait 21 days to recieve my money. and the eBay/Paypal machine has decided that is exactly what I will have to do since I'm not making them enough money selling things.
