eBay charged me fees for services I never used & wouldn't refund them ($764.41!!!!) This is simply outrageous & fraudulent of them. I am still, fighting to get my money returned 3 months later.
They have appaling customer service. Their on line chat based "Help Desk" is totally inefectual, yet you always get refered there. Mostly you get form replies to e-mails IF you can find who to send them too while navigating the god-awful "Help pages". Mostly they try to get you to the FAQ or Communiy pages, so avoiding eBay actually having to do ANYTHING at all.
They also make regular screw ups. I sold perfumes & got repeated warnings that I would face account suspension if I kept comiting Trademark violations. When I asked what this was about I was told that this was a mistake & not to worry. Guess what? After being told "Not to worry" they did it again & suspended my account. It took 2 weeks to get it unfrozen & I was out of business!
eBay is enormously expensive & the fees just go up & up. They also lie about the reasons why. Bill Cobb announces that Store format fee hikes are justified by "the need to encourage sellers to list on the core Auction style Format" Then when people make the switch, guess what? .... the Auction listing fees jump too! And not by a small amount either.
eBay has a self satisfied & smug attitude towards sellers who it now seems to view as cash cows that can be milked more & more while giving nothing return.
eBay used to be so good about 10 years go, something that began to change around 2003. Now it is just a money grubbing exercise full of dirty tricks & strong armed tactics.
