We ordered a bag from here and it took over 2 days for them to notify us that the order was cancelled because it is not in stock. They said they were notified by the company that the item was not available, but if you go that company's website and several other sites the item is available. I tried calling twice to customer service and was disconnected without even being able to talk to someone. I chatted with a customer service rep that gave me a discount code for 25% one item which is the discount code i used to place my original order. I asked for an explanation for why they are selling items that they do not have in stock and was not given an answer. They are rude and not helpful and not trustworthy.

The use decptive business practices to avoid redeeming gift certificates issued for their site. The said they would contact me about the issue, but when they called back the customer service rep did not leave a call back number or send the promised email. I cannot fathom how they get a trusted rating. That makes me wonder about the usefulness of that rating at all! Find another website to buy rather than ebags.

i ordered 2 laptop knapsacks. One was received within days. After 11 days and 6 phone calls/online chats to their offshore call center, they still could not tell me if they could supply the bag or when it would be shipped. None "got back to me " when promised. When I requested that the order be cancelled they couldn't tell me it was cancelled, just that they would try.
Ultimately I found the bag I wanted directly from the Burton store for less. |

Quality control non-existent

The first purchase I made at ebags came with a defective zipper and their friendly outsourced customer service rep in the Philippines quickly dealt with the problem and helped me reorder a second bag. This bag was also defective, with the logo panel sewn upside down. Now this is not ebag's fault, obviously, but here's where the outsourcing of customer service breaks down. It's difficult to talk to anyone with any real tie to the company, and therefore, you're given these pat answers to your questions and requests and they just repeat the same lame stuff over and over. And with no real warehouse -- they ship directly from the manufacturer -- there's basically no quality control. I finally did speak to a "manager" who said that he was going to work with their "liaison" at the manufacturer and ensure that I didn't get yet another defective bag, but I guess I'll see about that. I realize that I'm getting a lower price in exchange for this lack of real hands-on customer service, but it would certainly be nice if you could talk to a real person when things go bad.

I ordered two items from this website on two different occasions)and after a considerable time (2 weeks)they informed me that the item was sold out. Needless to say I was upset because the luggage was a Christmas present. I called and complained that it was bad business to neglect to inform someone for 2 weeks that the item ordered was unavailable. They told me I would get a 25percent discount and free shipping. What they failed to tell me was that it was off the original price, not the price listed on the website. So in actuality, all I got was free shipping and more hours of searching for another item to replace the one I really wanted. Due to time constraints I settled for something. I still am wondering if it will ever come! Also, they have different prices at different times, for different people. My daughter and I were online at the same time trying to figure out which luggage piece to re-purchase and her site showed a 10 percent sale, while mine displayed 20 percent. What's that about? Not too happy with this site. It's certainly not Zappos.com, which has excellent service and delivery.

Horrible experience!
Do not buy anything from this place. I placed an order. Email confirmation was sent to me. But no tracking number after several days. I called two times to inquire. I was told no worries, even with no tracking numbers, items will be delivered on time. On the day of delivery, an email sent to me said it was out of stock. Because they offered a discount, I reordered any similar item. Now, a week later, still no tracking number. I have called customer service daily for 3 days now. They are not stationed in US. They all very heavy and difficult accent and do not know how to do business in US. They keep on giving me the run around and lie straight out about the order already have been shipped. I still don't have the item. Will never order from them again. |

The only place I will go to shop for bags. By far the best price I could find for a rolling computer tote - their popular Olympia - which is well worth the price. Good service and delivery. But so many different coupons/sales prices simultaneously will lead many buyers to work very hard to find the best of the simultaneous "deals".

Over the Labor Day weekend Ebags ran an add for an additional 20% off. When I went to finalize my order for a leather bag I saw that the previously promoted free shipping was now $13.50, negating the "Special Sale" price. Ebags often engages in this bait and switch advertising. Be careful.

eBags.com provides a very broad selection. Information is well-laid out, the graphics are good. It offers a sidebar of comparable items you might wish to consider. In addition to a fairly comprehensive description of most products, it also includes reviews from users.
I wanted one bag, and ordered three. The problem with shopping online is there is no touch, taste, smell, feel. Two bags arrived within several days, the third was on back order. I picked the bag I wanted, and returned the other. I e-mailed them to let them know that I did not want the third bag. Well, it arrived via UPS several days later. I simply didn't accept the shipment, and let eBags.com know about it. I am writing them now, as it appears I was reimbursed for only one of the two bags that I returned. I am expecting a prompt response. |

this is a good place to get a backpack, the only thing i had a problem with is when i went to order the color, in my shopping cart it said it was another color, but when they shipped it i got the color i wanted, i just think that is something ebags should work on.

I was shopping for an ipod case and I found the experience pleasant. It was easy to navigate through the different product categories and find the item I needed. The item was also very cheap compared to competitors. The real problem came when I found out that it was the wrong model and tried to return the item. The customer service was the worst I have ever dealt with and I still haven't been able to get eBags to authorize my return. The representatives outright lied to me and refused to give any straight answers regarding my return and I ended up just getting frustrated and hanging up. If you want to purchase something from eBags, all sales are final. I would not recommend the site simply because I think that good customer service is vital to any site. Other then the poor customer service eBags is an excellent vendor for bags of all shapes and sizes.

I ordered a bag over a week ago and no tracking information is available, yet the bag is supposed to be delivered today. I sent an email to customer service and they responded stating that the order will take one day to process in their warehouse. Well, it has been 6 days, and still no processing. I called today to see what was going on as I should be receiving the package today. They told me they had to pass this on to another department and that department would follow up with me in two days. So they are basically not even going to follow back up with me until two days after the bag is supposed to be delivered to me. The price was good, but I would definitely go somewhere else in the future. I still havent received what I purchased so does the good price really matter?

Item arrived terribly damaged. Twice I was given a promotional code to reorder the item at 20% off and twice the codes were bogus. I ended up reordering from another vendor, 6pm.com. But it turns out that 6pm.com is the same as eBags, but cheaper and no shipping for small orders. Go figure. I hate companies like eBags that aren't straight with you. It's like shopping at a used car dealer!
