I place an order for $100 in merchandise on April 24. I opted to use Google checkout because I don't like opening numerous accounts all over the internet- I don't like giving out my credit card information to vendors that I have not yet determined are good to work with.
On May 5, I still hadn't received my items nor received an email from Drugstore.com explaining any delay. When I looked into it, I found that my merchandise had been damaged in shipment and returned to Drugstore.com. I sent an email to Drugstore.com asking how long it would take to re-ship the order, and the response that I was given was that I would need to call up their customer service line, give them my credit card information so that they can open an account with me, and then they would ship the items that I have already paid for.
This is not an acceptable solution to me. My order number, and the items that I ordered are listed in the emails automatically. I forwarded a copy of my credit card charge and copies of the original order, information from UPS, etc. that showed exactly what happened, but all I get is a copied-and pasted response that tells me I have to give them my credit card number... again...before they will re-ship the items that I obviously have not received. Then, I am assured, I can go online later and remove my personal credit card information from my account that they force me to set up.
I've requested a refund from them, and have not still heard back.
It has now been 20 days since I placed my order. I haven't received my items and my credit card charge has not been reversed. No less than 15 emails have gone back and forth and this is still unresolved- I will never, ever, ever use this vendor again.
Good thing I tested them out before just "going" with them... I am trying to find a good vendor of "green" cleaning materials for county school programs (I work for a County Office of Education that is beginning to implement more ecologically sound methods and practices). Through their ridiculous customer service practices, Drugstore.com has lost thousands of dollars in business over the next few months alone.
