the only problem i had was that the order was saying my address didn't match my credit card statement, only because i put the apt number on the address, but it was clearly my adress and that put my order on hold, which i had trouble establing whether it went through, it would have been very helpful to have a contact number and i left my number for someone to contact me and no one did by phone only by email, that was a problem to me, since i have not recieve my product yet i'm am yet to commit on that aspect of the order

Yes they had the lowest price, but sent outdated, defective merchandise which I had to pay to ship back. Ordered two Documate 252 scanners, which were "fufilled" through their partner DAKMART.
Install software would not work, when I called Xerox they determined the scanner was over 5 years old based on the serial number. Xerox was nice, sent updated software, but scanners jammed continually even on easy stacks of paper. Have a 2 yr old scanner - same model, which takes any stack of papers with no complaints. Caveat Emptor - the best price is not the best deal. At least I got my money back less 75 bucks return shipping. |

I could not be more disappointed with my purchase. I ordered a laptop battery and when it arrived I thought wow...they sent me 2 good right/? Wrong neither of them fit. So I put in my ticket for a replacement paid 5.18 to ship it back. They sent me another one after I had given them even more information about my laptop. It arrives and is still the wrong one. Now I am asking for a refund and will be out the 10.36 in shipping costs and the original 7.15 they charged me to ship it out in the first place. I cannot get anyone to call me or email me back. What a horrible experience

I was going to order three items. When I placed each item in the basket a shipping charge was added for each item. Then when I went to check out an additional shipping charge was added. I cancelled my order and will not be doing any future business with buy.com.

What a sack of garbage. I have been buying from them for over 8 years. I had a problem with my last purchase. I got NOWHERE with arranging my return with a VERY HARD to understand off-shore "service" person. I tried sending emails too, auto responder reply and no attention to my request. I will not be dealing with them again.

I've now ordered about 5 items from Buy.com If you luck out and get a good seller, you're good to go; however, if you don't, you're screwed. I was sent an item that was falsely advertised, was charged exorbitant shipping charges (actually more than the item itself cost), and was refused an RMA by the Seller. I'm now out $30 on a useless piece of trash that I could have purchased from a bubblegum machine for shipping charges (both ways). And, where's Buy.com - gone! As far as feedback goes - your feedback is not posted on Buy.com - it vanishes just like Buy.com did.
Buy.com does not seem to check its sellers. They are shady - sell defective and even dangerous products. They allow their sellers to post false and misleading product descriptions. Save your money and shop on eBay or Amazon. These are MUCH more reputable sites. |

Ordered a book (commonly available car repair manual). They accepted my order, debited my bank account, then 1 week later, the seller cancelled the order. No other explanation. I eventually contacted cust serv in the phillipines who could only provide doublespeak. No answers. What a waste of time and effort. Way back when, they were good. Nowadays, not so much. I'm waiting for my refund, but since they themselves also sell the identical item, you'd think I could reorder it. No because "the seller" must provide the refund. I thought "Buy.com" was the seller. Not according to cust serv. Confusing? Buy.elsewhere, don't waste your time.

I ordred Sony cybershot TX1 camera from buy.com, they shipped it through their affiliate J&R Music/Computer World, i got an e-mail next day that the item is shipped with a UPS tracking no. And when I started to track the item, UPS website said, the item is returned to the sender, J&R Music/Computer World, on their request.
When I calle the J&R Music/Computer World's toll free number, i kept on getting busy tone for more than an hour. But when i finally got connected, the customer svc rep said, it a mistake on their part, and once the item is back to them, they will ship it the next day. Now what should I do, other than just wait. I'm still waiting, will write a review again when I recieve the item. Very frustrating experience with Buy.com and their affiliates. |

I was very upset when this company let me place an order for a product they didn't have in stock. That is unfair and misleading. If they do not have the item in stock, they need to list it as "out-of-stock" and let people ask to be notified when you do have them in stock. Instead of letting them place orders and wait for a product they are not going to receive. They almost ruined my son's Christmas by leading me believe they were going to sell me a product that they disn't even have in stock!

I ordered a Christmas present with plenty of time to spare and they sent the WRONG item so I promptly submitted an RMA for a return and then found out that you have to wait for it to get back to them in Canada, then wait at least a week for them to verify THEIR MISTAKE and THEN they may decide to ship you a new one a week or so after that and then you wait some more for shipping time. I complained through e-mail and by phone, asked to speak to managers, etc. to no avail and of course the item won't arrive by Christmas now so I told them to change the RMA to refund, which also won't happen until they receive the item I sent back and then about a week after that! This was my first and obviously last order through buy.com

All I can say is POOR! I placed an order on 11/13. Great price on item and an offer of free shipping. Buy.com site states package ships in one or two business days. It has been eight business days and the package has not shipped. It is still in processing. I have contacted Buy.com via 5 emails only to receive an automatic response each time. I have also opted to be contacted via phone. I was contacted right away; however, they obviously out source their customer service to India. I was assured I would receive the package on 11/25 and would receive tracking info by 11/21. I have not received tracking info nor did I receive my product. AVOID BUY.COM FREE SHIPPING AT ALL COSTS! No customer support for free shipping items and no response to inquiries.

This is an execellent site. Not only do they have the best pricing but the free shipping on select items is a blessing. I recently bought a desktop computer from Buy.com. After serching the internet for a particular computer, I found that Buy.com had the best price and they were offering free shipping on the product. I recieved the computer in about 3 days. The quality was A1 and this was on a refurbished item. I do all my shopping online and I am now a dedicated shopper at Buy. com. I was able to use my Amazon.com account information to pay which made the process that much more pleasant. Buy.com Rocks!!!!!

I received an e-mail offer from Buy.com for a Garmin NuVi 255W GPS unit for $115 with free shipping. I was sitting at my computer when the offer came in,so I IMMEDIATELY followed the link only to find they were "out of stock." Three days later, I receive an e-mail saying they unit are in stock BUT NOW COST $129.99. I called and discussed this with two different representatives, (probably in India). All they could do was tell me I could buy the unit for $129.99 each. I think they never intended to sell these units for $115. In my opinion, this is deliberate dishonest marketing. BEWARE !

I've been buying from this company for years no problem. But my last two purchases have turned me off for good. The first time I ordered the item because of free shipping, then I noticed I got charged for shipping even though I picked free shipping. Customer service refunded the shipping and convinced me that I really had not picked free shipping.
Like an idiot I placed another order yesterday, being extra careful to pick free shipping and note the total price. They STILL included the shipping in the amount they deducted from my Paypal account. The free shipping is a scam. |

I joined epinions because I wanted to let everyone know how bad buy.com was. I placed my order 3 days ago on an item that stated 1-2 days for shipping. I still have not received notification of shipment. Apparently, like others have said, 1-2 days shipping means 1-2 days shipping from whenever they feel like actually shipping it. I needed this item within the week for a work project and now I will have to go order another one from a better etailer or my local Best Buy. I order items online all the time and shipping is usually honestly stated. Even my orders on Ebay ship faster then buy.com.

For some time I had been looking into buying either a Nikon D200 or D300 online. Just this past August I was very excited to purchase a Nikon D200 kit from under $449 from one of your vendors, Focus Camera. I patiently read all of the site reviews and I even called Buy.Com Customer Service to verify that I was purchasing the right product. Customer Service indeed informed me that I am purchasing a new Nikon D200 kit with a Full USA Warranty. Ten days later after my package arrived boy was I surprised, I received an electronic Dutch-English Dictionary. I have now returned the Dictionary for a full refund to Focus Camera. For obvious reasons I am very unhappy with Buy.com.

They sell defective merchandise at a bargain, and if you don't discover the defect within 30 days (and notify them) you have no return rights and no refund nor store credit. I am disappointed Google's brand and recommendation is affixed online: disgusting. We are judged by the company we keep. I purchased a Memorex 250 GB USB hard drive and found it would not accept more than 4 GB of data. Every Backup & Restore program failed to write beyond the 4 GB. Later when I had time, and a new compputer to test the Memorex and/or fix it, all the test apps read out the same: an I/O problem limiting the drive to 4 GB out of the 250 available (despite all attempts to correct, checkdisk, etc.)

I tried to buy something at buy.com. I used my paypal account but they would not ship to my summer home because I did not have a credit card with that adress on it. So I ordered with my credit card. When I did not get my shipment, I went back to buy.com and discovered that it had not shipped, they needed confirmation. In order to discuss this with customer service, I had to click a link to my home phone number, but I wasn't there. I sent 4 emails asking for a customer service number I could contact to explain the problem, but I kept getting the same from letter to click the link (It took 2 days per letter for them to respond). I appriciate they are trying to protect me BUT, THEY HAVE NO WAY TO CALL THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DIRECTLY TO SETTLE PROBLEMS. I finally gave up and cancled my order, and bought my product elsewhere. Then I had to contact buy.com's shipper directly to canncel the order (which they never recieved). Fortunately, they had a customer service department that responded immediately. |

I was charged $12 per month via Shoppers Discount, which was initiated when I clicked on a link on the Buy.com website. I did not receive notice that I was purchasing anything. I also didn't get anything for my money. When I complained, a rep from Buy stated that by clicking on the link, I authorized the charge from my credit card. I feel Buy.com practices deceptive sales tactics. Make sure you check your credit card bill and don't purchase through their website. You might save now, but you'll pay later.

I PURCHASE A CAMERA FROM BUY.COM ON 6/30. THEY MADE ME USE EBILLME, GOT PAID AND NEVER SENT MY ITEM OR GAVE ME ANY INFORMATION ABOUT IT. Ten days after placing my order and not receiving it or tracking information I looked to see how I could find out the status of the order. I found that the only means of communication is through email......lame! The email response was quick and informed me that the item was on backorder with no estimated delivery date, and that I could follow the links to cancel my order. I tried that but the links wouldn't get me to an invoice that would allow the cancellation. I have never ordered from a company with such horrible customer service. The lack of communication and ability to contact anyone is extremely unprofessional. I will never order from this website again.

I ordered a multi-function fax/printer from buy.com. After a few days, I noticed that my order had not shipped. I called and asked why and they stated the phone number given did not match that on record with my credit card. I confirmed with my credit card that it was indeed verified (which I knew from years of usage), and buy.com rejected the order yet again.
Their obvious ineptitude should have led me to cancel the order, but being a glutton for punishment, I gave them the secondary phone number on my credit card account but told buy.com to contact me only on the first. After more inquiries on the status of my order (they never contacted me, I was always left chasing them), they stated that it was approved and they had left me instructions for the order to proceed (what else did they need?) - as a message on the secondary phone number. Heed my advice: order from newegg.com and save yourself much grief. |
